Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

For this week I will probably do right around what I did last week.  One more low key week before I start cranking out the miles for St. G.  I also promised my self I would start back with the weights after Ogden so I would like to do this at least twice.

*Just thought I would put in here what I did before Ogden to stay injury free.  1-daily stretching, I do at least 15-30 mins of stretching before I go to bed. 2-I get regular massage (every other week, I would get one evey week but don't have time) and chiropractic work  done (about 4-6 time a year).  3-I scrape my legs when ever I feel a twinge and after my long runs just to clean them out.  4- I don't ignore anything 5- I take a recovery week every 3-4 weeks ei. I cut my mileage down so I can handle higher mileage.  6-I eat extreamly well.  7-one more thing I forgot is I get more sleep than I use to (7-8 hrs instead of 5-6 hrs)

Wtihout all this I don't think I would have been able to run mileage into the high 70s without some sort of injury.  My best advise is to listen to your body the FIRST time.  It always gives you warnings (this is even hard for me all I want to do is run, run, and run some more.)

Got up and went to Sasha's and ran a mile before we all started.  Jeff, Sasha and Daniel meet Matt on the trail and ran down to the 4 mile mark and turned back.  We ran a decent pace alittle faster, but didn't feel hard, so I could get in a full 8 miles with them.  Good run.

I ran a total of 9 miles today.  3 on my own before my husband left for work, then 5 with Gauge in the jogger, and then 1 mile with Gauge riding his bike.  Got a massage last night so leg felt beat up (they look that way as well from being scraped).

I am so mad!  I thought that my garmin just didn't get pluged in properly but it won't charge.  I just read about someone elses doing the same thing and he said it would be 90 bucks to fix it.  Man it is only a year old and it is the second garmin I have had.  And you pay up the wazoo for them, and I love using them.  I just don't know what to do.  I think if you are going to pay that mcuh for something it should last longer than a year!!!!!  I am really begining to not like the Garmin company and there lack of testing their product before it goes public. GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Anyway ran with Michell in SF we did our riverbottoms loop.  Great run, usually thurs. are my though and tired days but I felt great.  Added on another mile after I dropped Michelle off.

pace 7:58 don't remember the time.

*Good news I contacted Garmin and they had me hold the mode and lap button at the same time for 5 seconds and then let go.  Then I pushed the power button and it works.  HURRAY!  I guess the units can get locked up every so often.

Met up with Michelle, Kent, and Steve.  We started at Vivain park and ran up the hill to the girl scout camp and then back down to the start of the 10 miler course.  There we started a 6 mile tempo, which I did in 39:39/6:37.  Felt ok legs alittle tired but not to bad.  First 3 are downhill and the last 3 flaten out but are still a slight down. 6:26, 6:38, 6:32, 6:44, 6:50, 6:29 really wanted to break 40 mins so I pushed the last mile.  All in all a good work out.  Everyone else kicked my trash on this though, but I am still happy with what I did.

Core workout.

Also did power yoga twice this week counting that as my upper body.  It is a better upper body workout than weights.
