1st place overall womans in Spanish fork 1/2 marathon, Tristate 1/2 marathon, Death Valley 1/2 marathon, and the Utah Valley marathon (4-12-08)

Run a sub 3 hour marathon and have a blast doing it.

Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Went to the gym and did the elliptical for 35 mins. alternating between sprints and backwards.  Then I ran for 2 miles legs felt good but sore from the massage I got last night.  Then I pool ran for 35 mins doing sprints.   Arms are more tired, yesterday on the elliptical I used weights and the different way of pool running is a workout for the arms as well.  Good day.

You are really getting in some awesome workouts. How do you use weights when you are on the elipitcal? I have been doing the eliptcal a couple times a week so it would be nice to know some different things you can do on it.

My elliptical at home you are able to swing your arms and stay balanced (with most if you don't hold on you feel like you are going to fall off) so I hold weights and swing my arms as though I were running. I have these ones I call heavy hand that I sometimes run with that have a strap on them to keep them on your hands. They are 1 pounds, the last 5 mins I switched to 5 pounds and that was really tough.
