Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Went to the gym today, started on the elliptical only because there was no treadmills open.  Did that for about 10 mins before a tm was open then ran for 4 miles and pool ran for 40 mins.  Sciatic pain is better, still there but better.  Went to Marv yesterday and my right hip was higher than the other.  Can I tell you that I am so sick of this.  I don't even care about running that many miles,  I just want to be pain free and maybe run 40 miles a week.  That isn't asking to much is it?!?

No way baby! You aren't asking too much at all. I sure hope your hips give you a rest!

Sorry its not getting better :( Easier to say than to do, but how about taking two weeks off of everything but yoga? You won't lose much fitness and perhaps you'll heal.

If it makes you feel any better, I suffer from the same problems. And I've been suffering from them for a few years now, sometimes it's ok, sometimes it flares up and isn't ok. Doesn't anybody know how to get over this? Do you have to quit running for a year? That's something I'm unwilling to do, I've just learned to live with the pain.

I know what you are going through, Josse. And I know it stinks. :(. From personal experience and from my own desires to just be able to run 30 or 40 miles a week, I don't think what you are asking for is too much. I just know that it might take a little bit of time resting before the body heals itself. I remember how bummed I was that I couldn't run in the first few months following my accident, but then I refused to just sit by and let my injury win. I trained at something I could do pain free, i.e. biking, and I think it has made me a stronger albeit slightly heftier runner. If there's anything good that's come from my injury it has been to strengthen my heart.. my passion for the sport as well as my fellow runners. You are an amazing runner, Josse, better than I'll ever be. You have real talent, and the heart of a lion(ess) ;). We are all cheering for your swift recovery. I know it stinks but we'll all get through our lows. As runners we're a family and families support each other both during the highs and lows. WE CAN DO IT! God bless.

Thanks everyone, I love the running community! I love the friends and support I get as well.

Cheryl I have suffered for back pain for 10 years know , it comes and goes as well. This time it is lasting longer than it usually does. But I think it is from a bad fall I had in Aug. Running is so hard to give up, even when my year this year is not even focused on running, rather on having a baby. You would think I could just not run for a couple of weeks to get over this. What is my problem? It doesn't seem to bother me if I stay off the road so I have committed to that.

Benn I wish I dared get back on the bike, the first time I felt this was riding the bike so I haven't got on scence.

Thanks for the well wishes

josse:) I will be back but probably not for a year or so.....

Oh one more thing Cherly, my back does the best when I keep my core strong. I got lazy with that this year and I think that is one of the reasons I am having such a hard time recovering, but have started that all back up again. Life is about balance:) But it is hard to do when you love to run sooooooo dang much, right Michelle;)
