Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Oh my goodness surgery is not fun.  My first night I spent in alot of pain because I was throwing up and couldn't keep my pain med down.  The next day was alittle better was able to sleep some.  It keeps getting better and better I just hate not being able to do stuff for myself.  I am grateful I have a great husband and sisters to help out.  I am going crazy that I can't run as well.  Hopefully another week or two,  I never have had sugery so I am not sure what to expect with coming back.

Even when you can come out, it shouldn't be for a long run. We are anxiously awaiting your comeback though.

What kind of surgery was it?

From josse on Sat, Nov 24, 2007 at 12:30:50

I had my chest enlarged. My other running friends that have had this done took a couple of weeks off and bounced back quite quickly.

I hope you are feeling better! Thanks for the comments and I redefined my goals and I'm determined to get in better shape and continue to PR. Look forward to hearing how your recovery is coming along. Hope you can get out there even for just a recreational jog in a week or two!

I loved the description of your surgery to Sasha!!! I hope you feel better, and that you didn't get too enlarged!

Just enough.

Thanks for your comments and encouragement. The low glyco thing is interesting to me, and I'd be curious to hear about your experiences.

Meanwhile, hang in there, and go easy on the Vicodin. Some narcotics can really get your your digestive system out of whack(they used to use opium as a treatment for people with diarrhea), a perennial issue for runners. You'll be back at full speed sooner if you let yourself heal now!
