Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Well I don't know what to say because of course I would have liked to be faster but in reality I think I ran good for the lack of training I have had this year.  So I think I can be happy with my time.  The race started 30 mins late and it was warm which was an issue for me at the end.  I ran well until about 10 miles and then it was a gradual body shut down.

Finished just pooped, the last 3 were extreamly hard for me, it was hot, legs didn't want to go and mentally I was done.

PM-Was feeling somewhat frustrated, just because I gave up at the end so I got on my bike for 30 mins.  I figured I needed a cool down, I didn't do one after the race.  Worked things out in my head, yes I am still frustrated but I really had nothing in my legs in the end.  I only have 5 good week of training behind me.   Only 6 weeks till SGM I don't know about this?

I dido what Eric said and Dido what you said about the last 3 miles!! You ran hard and looked like it hadn't even phased you when I saw you!! Nice work Josse!!

From allie on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 13:37:32 from 67.177.43.41

nice job. not a good day to start a race 30 minutes late...too hot! way to be tough and get through those last 3 miles.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 14:08:54 from 24.8.167.243

I'm so impressed that you can do that in the heat with less than optimal training. Great job!

From Karin on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 14:26:28 from 71.36.81.1

Great job Josse. I'm really proud of all of you guys that ran the HC Half today. Very fun. Halves are the greatest. Josse's Mama, Karin

From LuzyLew on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 14:33:10 from 69.169.165.206

These times are one to two minutes faster than UVM splits. It was awesome to see you with your sis, and Mama, and kids. I hope you enjoyed it a little and can really enjoy the accomplishment of all those mid 6:00's. You are so strong Josse, and more than any running accomplishment....you an amazing woman, who never stops getting the job done.

From Sue on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 14:41:49 from 75.169.90.96

You cruised! It is always so fun to see you! Way to go on your run!

From Brent on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 16:04:40 from 204.113.19.55

Queen Josse - nice to chat for a few minutes. Very good race. It takes determination to run 7 min miles for a half, no slacking on your part. 200 commando points for the effort. The heat was a minor factor the last couple of miles.

From Kelli on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 16:24:44 from 71.219.64.200

It was so hot at the finish for you guys, I really felt your pain. They need to start this race at 6:30 and on time!! You did VERY well!!!!

From Superfly on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 16:30:34 from 208.117.127.110

Nice job Josse. Now reward yourself with a big fat shake or something way unhealthy:) At least thats what I'd do...

Wow - not good to start the race late on a 100 degree day. Way to hang in there. Your time to rule will come again and soon.

From richborget on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 18:30:44 from 71.199.12.164

For me sometimes heat can ruin everything. Keep positive you still had a good race. Kinda sad i wasn't there for that one, Hobble Creek is right in my backyard.

From Teena on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 19:10:48 from 67.177.20.13

Josse ...

You are simply incredible!!!

How can you run so fast with only 5 hard weeks of training!! Oh yeah ... that's right ... you are INCREDIBLE!!!!

Very nicely done!

From Walter on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 20:23:18 from 76.27.15.208

Wow, you did a 6:37 for your first mile and still had time to chat with me for a few strides! My first mile was 7 on the nose! Keep it up Josse! good meeting your mom and sis and kids! Be good

From Jody on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 23:22:11 from 98.202.136.149

It was great to see you today. It was tough and you still ran a great race. Time to focus and you will have a great SGM!

From Clay on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 23:44:29 from 67.177.58.4

Great race Josse!!! I agree with Clyde go and have a great big fat shake, you've earned it!:-)

Keep working hard.

From Leandra on Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 02:30:23 from 76.27.82.55

Josse! You rocked and I understand your frustration, but that heat was pretty brutal the last 5 miles. But your splits are still great! I can't believe SGM is in 6 weeks! That seems so soon!

From melanieb on Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 11:23:16 from 75.169.200.141

Josse you did awesome! The heat kicked my butt! I need major help with pacing myself better. I need some advice.

From anji on Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 13:21:22 from 74.211.23.124

wish my good days were as good as your bad day! you did awesome. 2 yrs ago i ran hobblecreek and it was 45 min late getting started and it was totally hot at the end which made it miserablly hard to run. you did great though!

From Lindsey Dunkley on Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 14:53:40 from 68.166.245.178

I agree, such a hot day to start the race soooo late on. You ran really well...good luck at St. George! :)

From MichelleL on Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 15:12:16 from 71.219.40.89

They seem to plan to start that race late. For the heat and the course, your ending splits aren't bad, and your overall time is great for your more laid back year. Hopefully we can run sometime soon :) If the weather cools, off, perhaps we can do a run after my work. Is the lil tyke in kindergarten? Morn or afternoon?

From josse on Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 16:12:22 from 75.216.103.213

Thanks everyone for all the kind words of encouragement:)

Michelle-He starts this thursday, I requested morning but they won't tell us for sure until wed. Just let me know and I will try and work something out I would love to run with you.

From JulieC on Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 19:43:27 from 67.42.125.149

Josse- Just Believe : D Heat is a big factor for all who were not where they wanted to be, I didn't notice it, a rarity. Think speed work, and recovery not miles friend and you will have a big PR at SGM.

From Karin on Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 22:37:54 from 71.36.81.183

Wow Josse, You are well known. What a kid! Love ya Mom

From Mike Warren on Mon, Aug 24, 2009 at 01:40:05 from 208.117.124.133

Well, as usual you always rise to the occasion. Great race with minimal training.

From Peggy on Mon, Aug 24, 2009 at 15:10:47 from 71.213.5.73

When I saw you during the race on Saturday, I wanted to tell you that I'd checked out your quilt website and ask you about your techniques and stuff because I really want to get into quilting, but after puffing out what I did, I decided that would have to wait until neither of us were trying to run sub-seven minute miles. So, maybe next time you can tell me about your quilting hobby.

Good job on your race. Train hard and I'm sure you'll do well at St. George.

From marion on Tue, Aug 25, 2009 at 13:29:00 from 71.213.121.129

Nice race, my dear :) I am sorry it wasn't what you were hoping for :( It is still pretty cool :D
