I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Happy with my time I was expecting something between a 3:20 and 3:30 so I can't complain.  I did well until about 20 and it was kind of a death march after that.  Just glad I finished with a half way decent time.  will write more later.

Once again I think Hyrum pulled off another great race.  And this year it was even more impressive because there were 10 times the runners than last year.  I don't know if I like this years course better or not.  There are some parts i do and some i didn't.  I would give it a 7 on a scale of 1-10, only taking points out because I hated the end and some of the turns.  I liked the airport part from last year.  But most people didn't so what do you do.

On to the race details if I can remember them,  I sleep pretty good.  Woke up at 4:05 and ate some cheereos and drank some hammer drink.  My friend Julie came and got me and we rode the buss together and hung out at the start.  We only had about 30 mins to wait, which went fast.  My plan for the race was to run how I felt.  I felt really good in the beginning and paid for my fast miles in the end.  But I am happy with my time and had to see....

We are off and Bang (he couldn't get the gun to work so it went off after we started).

1-7:43

2-7:06

3-7:15

4-7:15

5-7:44 uphill section felt fine.  Michelle is hear cheering.

6-7:20

7-7:14

8-7:20

9-7:25

10-7:19 feeling good still but can tell the end will be a struggle.  See Ericka and Mel here.

11-7:25

12-7:42

13-7:34 knew I started to fast but maybe just maybe I can hold on

half way 1:37 and starting to feel it oops.

14-7:28

15-7:36 slowly but surely starting to loose it.  I have pitchers to document to torment on my face.

16-7:41

17-7:49

18-7:50 at this point I want to be done but I can't give up because my kids will be waiting for me at the end.  Plus I am just to stubborn to quit.

19-7:59

20-8:20 and the 7's are gone and the death march begins.

21-8:24  I think here is the last time i see Michelle drive past and I want to stick out my thumb for a ride.

22-8:22

23-8:45 OH MY GOODNESS

24-8:36

25-8:39

26-8:55 Can I just be done know PLEASE

.33-2:37 (7:55) my garmin got it .33 so that is what I put.

I finish and saw my loving children and husband as well as Ericka and Mel who are also very loving to come cheer me on for the whole race.   Got some post race goodies and went to IHOP for pancakes.  I didn't get sick and was very hungry.

Okay, so I once again missed my chance to meet you, BUT I was with Walter this morning after the race (when you were talking to him and eating a popsicle). After we walked away, I said, "Who was that?" and he told me and I was mad that I did not say hi.

Anyway, great job today! I am glad you are happy with your performance, that is the most important thing.

We will have to meet at the RHPC 1/2 I guess!

Considering what others have said it sounds like those last 5 were brutal. Glad you it your time range right on the nose. Great job!

From Jon on Sat, Jun 13, 2009 at 22:54:32 from 75.169.139.27

Good job, Josse. We can't complain too much when we hit our target time on the nose, which both of us did today. Sounds like a pretty good race.

From JulieC on Sun, Jun 14, 2009 at 14:48:51 from 67.42.17.84

WOWIE!!! Nice job Josse!! I ran the 10 miler yesterday so as we were driving up on the bus we passed you and I saw you running. I wish I would have had the window down and I would have cheered you on. You were at about mile 5 and looked as if you were just flying down the mountain!! Very nice time! I am proud of you and happy for you!! Good Job!!!

From josse on Sun, Jun 14, 2009 at 15:27:41 from 75.216.208.36

Thanks for all the kind comments. I really was fun and challenging. I am sore today, mostly just going down the stairs.

From Mike Warren on Sun, Jun 14, 2009 at 17:14:12 from 208.117.124.133

Jose, great job! Impressive time with limited training. Looks like a good start if you decide to go for that sub 3 at SGM.

From mattk on Sun, Jun 14, 2009 at 23:58:13 from 69.169.164.230

Great job as always Josse. You're still the original UVM marathon champ! It only gets faster from here. I hear ya on the soreness. I am barely moving today.

From Superfly on Tue, Jun 16, 2009 at 09:38:18 from 208.117.127.110

I've been off line for a few days so I'm slow. Anyways great job on the race. It is always nice to be happy with your time. This is your "home" course so I'm sure you'll run it more over the years and can sue a good time like that as a benchmark.

Keep up the good work.

From Mark on Tue, Jun 16, 2009 at 09:50:09 from 168.103.223.128

Great job slugging it out, and you still came right in the middle of your goal range. It's hard to keep going when you want to be done, but you did it!

From argentinerocket on Tue, Jun 16, 2009 at 11:51:24 from 74.9.147.114

Great job Josse! You are such a tough girl, even on a "bad" race you do fabulous!

From Cal on Tue, Jun 16, 2009 at 12:04:29 from 66.133.117.3

Congrats on a great race Josse! (I'm only slightly disappointed that you didn't repeat as champ...)

jk.
