I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Treadmill miles again as well as 20 mins on the elliptical.  My elliptical at home is differant than the one at the gym and it made the top of my right foot hurt.  It works the tibialis anterior more.  I used the gym elliptical and didn't bother the foot.

Did weights lower and abs/back

Hi Josse, josse bo bosse! Sorry to hear about all the sciatic pain! What a bummer, but that's cool to see you're trying for a baby this year!!! And I'm actually not training for Boston, even though my time is a qualifying time, Top of Utah is not a Boston qualifier. So I am starting my official marathon training for the Utah Valley Marathon in June...oh you know the one you WON last year!!! I really haven't run a ton since my last marathon so I am playing catch up with the miles. Good luck with getting better!

Where did you hear that TOU wasn't a Boston Q? I am pretty sure it is. It is certified and that usually means it is. I would look into that. But Utah Valley is a great marathon.

From Jon on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 19:04:24

TOU is Boston Q. All marathons that are USATF certified for distance are. Merri, you may be confusing it with the new Olympic Trial rules, which it would not meet.

Thanks for clearing that up Jon:)

That would stink if you can't end up using your elliptical at home. Hopefully the pain is temporary?

Sweet, so good to know! I thought I had heard that from a reliable source, but they were wrong! :0)

Your telling me Michelle! I think it is just because it is working differant muscles than I am used to and I just did to much to soon on it. Hopefully I will get used to it and be able to use it. Although I am afraid if my husband has the same problem we will have to exchange it for another one. He has bone spurs in his foot and if it aggrivates it he will not be able to use it. And we got it for him, although he had not tried it yet.
