Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Woke up early to run did a 2 mile loop and then the CC loop, felt good.

8:30 avg. pace

16 week marathon training plan begins.  My plan is to go week to week and run how I feel.  Take recovery weeks when needed and train hard when I feel good.  My goal for Pocatello is to run between a 3:10 and 3:18 I would even be happy with a 3:25.

Nice way to start your training! I still haven't run today and am still debating my workout plan. I printed off 4 different ones that vary in mileage and intensity. I'm with you on taking it week by week. These first couple weeks may be day by day for me... I wish my endurance was as great as yours!

It will come, Ya I sat down to work out a schedule and just wasn't into it. I just planned out my long runs, thats the most important anyway. What are you thinking of doing for speed? and what day? I think we should alternate between 800-1600, long tempo's, and hill repeats.

The schedule I am trying to follow is a mix of an advanced training schedule I found on Runners world.com and the training schedule I used for Boston. It includes hills (up and downhill repeats), long intervals up to one mile and tempo runs. The mileage is probably low for you but that would be easy for you to add on. I will try to remember to email it to you (baby is crying now or I would do it now...) Text me if I forget.

Good luck on the training, you will do well I'm sure.
