Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Got up to a chilly morning.  Met with Marie, Rebecca, and Cami this morning for an easy 6 miles then came back and ran the dog for two.  My low back has been super tight and achy sence the marathon and keeps getting tighter and really bothers me when I run.  I don't know what is up with it because I am still streching, maybe time for the chiro.

Went to Dr Brady today and got a workover.  He wants me to take the rest of the week off and see him again on Monday.  All the attachments to my sacrum are so tight it is causing major pain.  He doesn't want it to lead to a stress fracture and either do I so some time off is ok.

Sorry your back is giving you trouble. I can come over and stand on your back if you like :)

Dang! I miss running with you. Perhaps next week. Stress fractures are worth avoiding though.

Oh my gosh, you and me both (lower back, to hips to ischial tuberosity to piriformis,to hamsstrings). You can come and do physical therapy with me and Steve! We can use the flex-stretch cage, jump on the tramp, get prodded in uncomfortable ways! It'll be a PT Partaay! You showed me all those stretches earlier in the summer and I never understood how badly you can wreck stuff by being stiff. I paid in a big way. You take care of that back.....No stress fractures!

Sorry to hear about your back! Hope it gets back better soon. Looks like lots of us are dealing with post marathon issues. Remember my lower ab discomfort, well its gotten worse!

My back is feeling better today and I want to run so bad (it is kind of funny how when someone tells you that you can't run how bad you want to after that, even when you think you are ok with it), but am going to wait until monday to do it. I am VERY sore were he worked me. And I need to get over this back stuff if I want to run any kind of mileage and anything fast. I miss running with you as well Michelle, I am hoping next week.

Good luck! Don't do what I've done and just get worse! I miss you, and get excited whenever I get on and see you've commented on the blog. I'll talk to you about the shutters later and yes they are for the outside! I see Dr. Brady tomorrow and go from there, I doubt I'll be running but we'll see! hope your family is well!!

From josse on Sun, Oct 26, 2008 at 12:30:39

Mckenz-I don't think it is a stress fracture, it feels about 90% better after being worked. I think it was just extreamly tight, but I am keeping a close eye on it. What time are you seeing Brady, I have an appt. at 3:45 but I might push it to Tuesday.

From mckenzie on Sun, Oct 26, 2008 at 12:37:21

I'll be there at 12:15, he said that he thought it was still fractured and didn't know how much he could help it right now, so we'll see...so good to "talk" with you

From josse on Sun, Oct 26, 2008 at 12:42:13

You too, I really hope it heals soon and you can run again. I miss you and know the torcher of not being able to run. Hang in there and listen to what the Dr. has to say.

I've got a 2:30 appt tomorrow. Man, ladies we need to coordinate better so we can chat through the walls.
