Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Got up and ran down to my hubbys job and opened it for him and then back home.  Leg felt good a little more tired than a normal monday run but not as bad as after UVM.   I wish they would have been so sore I would have felt like taking today off:(  Ran easy and it was a beautiful morning.

Wow 7 miles already! I'm not sure I'm up to doing that yet. Good job on Saturday, big improvement over last year!

Josse- you of all people should know that amount of soreness doesn't determine the quality of your performance...you did well for 2 marathons in a matter of weeks.

Glad you are feeling good. Thanks for the pics!

Were you super-hydrated with only water before the race? I ask because I just saw an article talking about hyponatremia (sp?), and one of the signs is dizziness/blurry vision. I wonder if that may have caused your issues near the start.

From josse on Mon, May 19, 2008 at 16:04:28

Hum I could have been. I forget that I have problem with salt and this causes excess sweating. Does hypoatremia have to do with salt. The week and a half before the marathon I was having bad headaches and eveything that I normally eat was making me feel all yucky so I thought maybe I was detoxing and did up my water intake.

I just googled it and it looks like I need to study this issue more. Thanks for the info.

Happens more often in women and mainly when you drink lots of pure water rather than a sodium/electrolyte drink. Something to definitely watch out for.
