I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

I think I feel pretty recovered form the marathon, probably not 100% but close.  I think I will do in the 60's for mileage, we will see.  Race a 5k on sat. would really like low 20's or even better would be in the 19's.  5k's are not my favorite, but I can gut it out for 3 miles.  Do power yoga or weights twice.  And like always daily stretching (which I do but don't usually log).

Did 30 mins of power yoga yesterday.

Got up this morning ready for a good run, my body said differant.  I felt awful, I was hungery, tired, and felt like I couldn't run.  But I stuck it out for 10 miles.

Got up and met Michelle early at Sasha's and we warmed up alittle so Michelle could stretch.  Then the whole gang showed up and we did about another 2.5 before we started into some speed (Michelle wanted to be paced for a 5k)  I just want to hold on for a mile and did my mile in 6:09.  Fastest on the trail so far.  Finished up the the run with Daniel and ran a little but with Sarah.  Then I came home and finished up with laps around my block, fun stuff.  Better run today than yesterday.

Core work on the ball.  WT upper and abs.

Ran to the park down the street and ran barefoot on the grass, I had to see what this was all about.  I loved it!  It feels like you are a kid again, feeling the soft cool grass under my feet.  I think I will do this a couple of times a week.  I can see how this really helps your form.  Followed by some good stretching in the grass, ITCHY.

Got up and ran by myself.  Cool and rainy but not bad.  Some what tired, just not feeling it this week.  Don't know why, maybe just not recovered from the marathon yet or maybe because I'm late.  Something.....

It was brisk out this morning but I got hot with my long sleeves on.  I got up super early because my husband had to leave early.  Still not feeling it, ran an easy 10.1 not paying any attention to my pace.

Met Michelle and MacK in Springville to do a good 7 mile warmup before the race.  We got soaked, it was wet and cold.  So I changed gloves before the race, I would have change my top as well but I didn't have one.  So Michelle ran the cousre once fast before the race and was planning on pacing me.  We lined up to start and no Michelle, I looked and looked but she was no where to be seen.  The gun went off.  The 1st mile is a good uphill climb follow by a flat mile and then ending with a down hill to a track and finishing with  almost a full lap of the track.  Michelle ended up catching me from behind at about mile 1 and was a great pacer and helped me not slack off.  Splits by my garmin which wheren't right on but pretty close.

1-6:53 the lady calling out splits said it was a 6:43 when I passed pretty happy with that because I felt good and it was uphill.  In the middle of this mile I saw the main pack up in front of me and I was at the front of the 2nd pack.  I decided I wasn't going to be there and cought up to that main pack.  I am a main packer.  I am a main packer. ect....

2-6:30 Passing people and feeling pretty good.  Michelle is having me slap her fives and the end of this mile.

3-6:21  Starting to feel it but only 1 mile left.  I can do that.  Pass some more people.

.1-27  Was disapointed when I saw the clock and I had just missed a sub 20 min 5k but all in all was a good workout and I actually like it.

Cooled down 4 miles on the course backwards and froze my behind off so I didn't wait around anymore to see what place I got over all.  But I think I was at least in the top 10.  This was a pretty big 5k with 1500+ people.

I woke up not feeling well this morning.  Don't know if I am getting something or what.  I hope not.

Running this week should consist of something in the ball park of 65, would really like to continue the grass running if I can get to the park.  Do weights or yoga 2 times.  Racing the Provo 10 miler on saturday, this should be fun stuff.

Met Sasha at his house we ran to meet Jeff on the trail.   We did the regular out to the lake and back with alittle bit of Matt to spice it up in the middle.  Matt got a new Forerunner watch, tiny little thing.  Then we finished up with laps around Sasha's block so Sarah could go out on the trail.  Felt good, legs a little tired towards the end.  Mostly just an easy run.

Today Michelle, MacK, Alli, and myself meet at  the 10 mile mark of the Hobblecreek course.  We did a 3 mile warmup and then went right into a 4 mile tempo 2 miles uphill and 2 down.  My legs did not want to run fast today, felt very dead legged.  But tried my hardest anyway, which was alittle discouraging because I could not keep up with anyone on the way up.

Pretty good race for me, I wish now looking back at my split I would have been faster/mentally stronger at the end but I am happy.  A pr for me so can't be to disapointed.

Warmed up with Michelle and James 2 miles, got to the start at it was about to start and we still had to get rid of our warmups.  Started the race and could really only see about 20 people up ahead of me, not bad.  The first 3.2 are a really fast downhill and then it flatens out on the river trail and is a very gental downhill.

1-6:18

2-6:32

3-6:26 feeling really good with this

4-6:36 flattens out here and this usually kills me but I still felt good

5-6:41

6-6:35 (39:08 faster than the tempo I did a couple of weeks ago)  feeling pretty good still

7-6:38

8-6:55  I guess this is where I started to struggle or lose focus because I wasn't that tired

9-6:57 now I am starting to get tired just want to keep the pace under 7's

10-6:55 (1:06:33)

Course measure .1 long for me did that in 31 sec.  See why looking back I should have pushed alittle more, I really think I could have but stayed under 7's so happy about that and I can tell the training is paying off.

Cooled down with amazing Michelle (1st place overall womens) and easy 5.  We ran back to run her hubby in and yelled at him like no tomorrow to pick it up and he responded well we got him in under 1:20.

Allready the middle of June, how time flys.  A little bit sore after yesterday but not bad.  Going to do one more building week before a recovery week, so I will break into the 70's for mileage.  I am feeling like I need some sort of mental boost with running, I am hoping a recovery week after this week will do that for me.  Any ideas for a mental boost?

So yesterday I woke up with a sore adductor/medial hammstring. I didn't pay much attention to it. I did scrape it and have my husband put some pressure on it with his foot (ok I had him stand on it but not with all his wieght). It is still sore, I think it is a combination of the long run on sat. and squating for 1.5 hours picking strawberries. None the less it is sore and I think I will be taking this week alot easier than I had planned.  Hopefully this will be gone in a couple of days and not set me back any.  I will follow all my own advice, and I am getting a massage tomorrow.

I slept in and wasn't even going to run at all, but I wanted to see how it felt running on it.  So when my husband came home to shower I went out for an easy 2 miles.  It felt alright could feel it but not bad.  Then I came home and biked for 20 mins. then iced it while I lifted upper and core.

Me and Michelle met at the mouth of Provo canyon.  We started easy and ran fairly easy the whole way up.  We went to the forest access (where the 10 miler starts) and started a MP tempo which is suppose to be around a 6:45 for me.  Was not feeling it so it was slower but still finished out the whole 6 miles.  During I was coming up with every excuss I could why I couldn't hold my pace I wanted.  But here are the splits. Oh ya first 3 are a good downhill and then it flatens out for 2 and the last has some gentle downhill.

1-6:40

2-6:55  i felt like I was working harder than this.  Uggggg

I had a dream last night that I got up and ran today and I was so mad because I really like taking sundays off guilt free.  And now I would have to wait another week for sunday to come around.  I was relieved when I woke up and it was still sunday and I hadn't ran.

This week starts another 3 week building cycle before another recovery week.  I am still not sure if I am going to race on the 4th or not.  I want to but I don't think my husband wants me to so we will see.  Plan on 65-70 miles this week, sprinkled with lots of stretching.
