Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

My body is in desperate need of a recovery week.  So I will cut my mileage and do 55-60 and hope this gets my legs feeling like they can run fast again.

So yesterday I woke up with a sore adductor/medial hammstring. I didn't pay much attention to it. I did scrape it and have my husband put some pressure on it with his foot (ok I had him stand on it but not with all his wieght). It is still sore, I think it is a combination of the long run on sat. and squating for 1.5 hours picking strawberries. None the less it is sore and I think I will be taking this week alot easier than I had planned.  Hopefully this will be gone in a couple of days and not set me back any.  I will follow all my own advice, and I am getting a massage tomorrow.

I slept in and wasn't even going to run at all, but I wanted to see how it felt running on it.  So when my husband came home to shower I went out for an easy 2 miles.  It felt alright could feel it but not bad.  Then I came home and biked for 20 mins. then iced it while I lifted upper and core.

Woke up this morning with my leg feeling about 85% better, did some more scraping on it yesterday and did yoga as well.   Still just wanted to take it easy did 2 miles barefoot on the grass and the rest on the road.  I think I just have some severe muscle fatigue.

Biked 30 mins

Got a massage last night, she worked my leg good.  Got up and ran easy this morning leg felt good, sore from the massage but that deep soreness is gone.  LESSON FOR THE WEEK-don't do a long run and pick strawberries for 1.5 hours that day.  Legs felt alittle tired form the biking I have been doing.

Met Michelle at Hobble creek for our super spectacular uphill/downhill tempo.  We were both overly excited to do this workout.  I for one wasn't sure how my leg would feel and Michelle has had some aches and pains as well plus she just did a killer workout on tues.  We decided to keep it to 5 miles, 2.5 up and 2.5down.

1-7:08

2-7:49 faster than last week, but I thought I was faster than this (I must have looked at my watch wrong)

3-7:32 had a hard time trasitioning to the downhill

4-6:37 good

5-6:42 wanted this faster but done

35:46 for the 5 mile tempo

1:27:12/7:52

Leg felt good and overall felt good for the run.

Got up and ran an easy 8 miles CCloop with add on in the middle.  Tired starting but felt fine once I got warmed up.

pm-took my son, dog and sister to the park and we did barefoot running while my son played on the slides.  This was my sister first time doing barefoot running, she liked it but her ankle got alittle weak at the end.  2 miles.

Signed up for the Bryce Canyon half.

Me and Michelle met at the mouth of Provo canyon.  We started easy and ran fairly easy the whole way up.  We went to the forest access (where the 10 miler starts) and started a MP tempo which is suppose to be around a 6:45 for me.  Was not feeling it so it was slower but still finished out the whole 6 miles.  During I was coming up with every excuss I could why I couldn't hold my pace I wanted.  But here are the splits. Oh ya first 3 are a good downhill and then it flatens out for 2 and the last has some gentle downhill.

1-6:40

2-6:55  i felt like I was working harder than this.  Uggggg

3-6:43

4-7:06

5-7:13  oh my this is not fun.

6-6:50 regrouped for this one and was determind to be under 7's

2:27:22/8:01

Stomach was not feeling the best throughout the whole run.
