Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

So mixed feelings, feel like i did well but not an all out effort.  The race ended up being short and an out and back on the provo river trail with a it going up to start and down to finish, which is what i wanted, but it is also part of the trail that has alot of under passes so short but steep up and downs.  I just wish i could get myself to race a 5k all out, but I do plan of working on that this summer.  We will make a 5ker out of me yet!  Anyway warmed up on the course with rebecca 3 miles so we both knew it was going to be short.  The race was small and unorganized so started about 15 min late, but that really isn't to bad.

splits

1-6:39

2-6:49 this miles was tough you had the 4 underpasses and a hairpin turn in it plus when i went under the bridges i had to yell at people coming the other way to get out of the way.

3-6:39

no time for a cool down had to get home but long run on monday, last one:)

I thought you did great. This wasn't an ideal course for an all out effort with those crazy ups/downs. We'll do a 5k training cycle after the marathon, ok?!

Thanks melody, yes I would like that. I have officially decided not to do UV and work on shorter stuff. I am excited:)

I think you did great Josse! You can't be in tip-top 5K and marathon shape at the same time. This was a perfect last harder effort before the marathon. Nice running this morning!

OH, last long run sounds so nice!!!

The short stuff is HARD. I am in your camp on that one. I will have to track your training and see what you do...I have no doubt you will be amazing!

Yeah, out and back courses that are uphill then down are lame. Great time regardless. The Spanish Fork 5k on the same day as the half is the same way. Not ideal for such a short race. Good speed work today!

I love underpass running. I especially like how much it sucks the energy out of you.

Good Job Josse!! just thank your lucky stars you are healthy. Just sayin' :D. I think your time was excellent given all the underpasses!!
