Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

I had a lot of fun reading everyones TOU race reports esp. Allie's.  It is so fun to see people have races like that, it reminds us that they do happen:)

Week 2 taper- plan on backing off to right around 48 or so.  And doing some shorter faster stuff.  I can't believe I can run a # below 60 it feels wierd but will enjoy every step of it.

I didn't get up and run because my husband left early and I didn't want to get up at 4:30 to run sleep is so much more important rught now.  But I also had to do visiting teaching while my son was in preschool.  So I thought I would run after I got done and then finish up with him in the jogger.  When I got done with VT it was poring rain so I drove to his school and had 28 mins to get some running in so I just tried to get as much in during that time, I didn't think I would be able to take my son out because of the weather.  But by the time I got home and feed him lunch it was sunny so I went out for some more.

I got in 3.65 miles in the 28 mins and then a slow 3.4 in 32 mins.

Met Michelle out in SF for some good old fashion mile repeats. We did them on the mile 8 to 9 of the SF half which is pretty flat. We did 4 of them after a 2.38 mile warm up.

1-6:28 (5:23 rest)

2-6:25 (5:27)

3-6:30 (5:56)

4-6:30

I think I have a hard time getting into that uncomfortable Vo2 max level. I will have to work on that after the marathon and after I recover. But a good work out.

I think I will be forced to take today off.  I came down with the stomach flu yesterday, my daughter and I have been trading it off know for the past couple of weeks.  But yesterday it hit harder than I have had it in a long time.  Spent most of the day in the bathroom and lost about 4 pounds.  Not something I want right now.  But I am glad it is this week and not next week.  I just hope it clears up fast, I still feel pretty bad today and dehydrated.

PM- I was hoping that I would have kicked this by now, but nope still sick. my sister just joined the blog http://ericka.fastrunningblog.com/ I have been bugging her for months.

Still not feeling good, better but very weak.  I don't know if I will go out and run today or not.  Maybe this evening.

PM ran 5 easy miles with the dog.  My Garmin completely fell apart and is broken:( I guess I have droped it one to many times.

Ran while the kids were in school.  Didn't feel all that well, last night on my run I had some heart burn.  It contiued into today but was worse and my I was tired.  I am guessing this is all a result of being sick so I just ran super easy.  Took the dog for the first 3 or so and then finished on my own.  Looks like I am in the market for a new watch, most likely another Garmin.  They are nice when you do alot of training on your own.  OK I will admit it I am a Garmin addict:)

Met for Bruce and Cheryl and some other Sojouners for the rock and run 3 mile tempo.  There where 6 of us, we started at Memoral park in Provo and ran up 9th east to the start about 2.5.  This coarse is a fast one, starting flat with some up and some down in the fisrt mile then then 2nd mile is all down hill on 9th east.  The last mile finishes with the last of the down hill but not as steep and the last 800 is flat.  Legs feel great just not alot of spring to them, still getting back my energy from being sick.  But it will be there come marathon day.  Then cooled down 2.5 and came home and took the dog out to total the 10.

tempo-

1-6:20  Bruce starts out sub 6 pace and I hung back alitte, that was to fast for me.

2-6:17

3-6:17 this mile I felt the stongest and was catching back up to Bruce.

total time 18:54/6:18

Good run!!  Oh and I guess you can tell I bought another Garmin, I got the 405 and not sure how I like it yet.
