Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

My right foot was really sore after my run on sat (very frustrating) but what would the week before a marathon be without a sudden injury?  I ran an easy 5 with cole in the jogger.  Didn't feel that hot.  I work the foot and calf out really good.

My baby turned 1 today, where does the time go!?

Took cole in the jogger, felt crappy again.  would NOT expect anything less right before a marathon.  Foot still buggy so I will get some homepathic injections today in it from Dr. Brady.

Met Melody down at Vintage and we ran easy up the canyon and back.  It was good to chat and calm the nerves.  Foot felt a lot better, sore but the soreness is from the injections and deep tissue work.  I think it will be fine for the marathon.

Stretching and pilates legs.

Well this was not the greatest race for me.  At the beginning of the week I was struck with a sore foot and a bladder injection.  I thought both would resolve themselves, while the foot got better with the help of Dr. b the infection came back on friday and I had to go back on some antibiotics.  Which I think contributed to my GI issues through the entire race (I felt like I had to poop the whole race and when I would stop to try....nothing).  Plus my legs just didn't feel it today and my SI/sciatic hurt from mile 6 on, not a very fun time.

I did have a fun time with Mckenzie, Ericka, and Aubrey, so the weekend wasn't a total wash and Mac and Aubs, Beth, and Melody ran really well.  Had a very sleepless night but didn't feel to bad when I got out of bed.  We meet Beth and Melody at the busses and rode to the start.  Waited around  for about 35 mins for the race to start, it was only a couple mins late despite being shorted half the busses.  Luckily they only had about a 15 min drive to drop us off .

Starting the race I didn't feel great but never warm up for about 5 miles so I just ran but noticed I had to go to the bathroom.  I was running with Aubrey and we ran together until about 15.  She even came back for me but I wasn't feeling it so she continue on.  I tried stopping at mile 6 to use the bathroom but was unsuccessful and was losing time.  Around mile 6 my SI/sciatic starting hurting which hasn't really bothered me lately, this was a bummer.  At mile 10 I realized I wasn't going to feel that good but did want to finish so I though I would just try to hold it together as long as I could.  At mile 16 I wanted to be done as the 3:20 pace group had caught me and I couldn't keep up (they were ahead of pace but I didn't really know that they came in at 3:16).  The only thing that kept me going was if I still got below a 3:30 I could still get that early registration for Boston.   The hills at the end really killed me, not that they were horrible I was just done at that point, well maybe they were horrible at least to me.

My splits were

1-7:19

2-7:29

3-7:18

4-7:19

5-7:12

6-7:51 bathroom stop

7-7:07

8-7:17

9-7:14

10-7:02

11-7:10

12-7:01

13-7:30

14-7:15

15-7:25

16-7:45

17-8:02

18-7:46

19-7:28

20-7:51

21-8:18

22-8:53 this hill was hard to swallow

23-8:18  Durning these last miles I knew I was close to a sub 3:20 and would try to pick it up but I just couldn't hold a good pace anymore.  Sadly this was all I could manage.

24-8:18

25-8:15

26-8:10

.4-7:39 pace  I am pretty sure I was a sub-3:20 at 26.2

I felt pretty defeated when I finished and was mad my back gave me troubles.  I don't know how many more of these my back can really handle but hope I can do this a little longer.
