I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

I WON, WOW I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT. I will write more later very tired and can't think.

I got 3 prs today 1-mileage for the week 2-mileage in one day 3-time

I am so happy with today.  I want to start out by say Hyrum the race director did an excellent job.  The start was freezing cold, started in my jacket but sheed it by mile 3 but still had my long sleeve and gloves on.  Once again my Garmin was not working well my total mileage for the marathon was 30 because the first 5 it was picking up wrong.  Man that really bugs.  I turned it off and back on again around mile 5 so I could see my splits.  I started the race with  MacK and Bruce.  MacK (the female in 1st) took off faster than I wanted so I hung with Bruce.  I don't have my first 5 spits but I ran it around 36:09.

6-7:53 this had a good uphill and Bruce told me to not get my heartrate up so I took it easy and let Mack go.

7-7:28 pace so far feel super comfortable

8-7:12 hammer gel

9-7:40

10-8:04 another up hill section, see Steve in this section and he is flying

11-7:21

12-7:13

13-7:16 (1:36:16)

14-7:12

15-7:21 See KT and she is cheering with her girls.

16-7:20

17-7:17

18-7:21 this is a dirt section and it was tough.  But I realize if I can keep this up I might get a pr. hammer gel

19-7:25

20-7:35 starting to close the gap on the first lady.

21-7:35 Starting to feel it.

22-7:35

23-7:35

24-7:24 Really trying hard to close the gap on the first lady but I am soooo tired.

25-7:35

26-7:26  Here comes Sasha and he is taunting me and telling me I have to slap him five.  Finally cought the first girl and ran my gut out to the finish.

.21-1:41(6:46)

I have never finish a marathon that strong and feeling that good.  This was awsome, although I felt bad for passing Mack in the final strech.  We hugged and she was glad it was me and not someone else.  I didn't get sick after the marathon either, I usually get really sick after the marathon.  After some time I went back and ran my mom in.  So I won 1000 buckaroonies, and nice trophy (which my son has displayed proudly in his room), a swiss army watch, and a 15$ gift card to the University mall.  Wow what a great training run:)

From Paul Petersen on Sun, Apr 13, 2008 at 17:00:29

Great job!! Nothing beats the feeling of winning a race.

From MichelleL on Sun, Apr 13, 2008 at 18:21:39

Yeah Josse! Wow a PR on this course at this time of the year, when racing the race wasn't a priority, that is really saying something! I wish you would have put more detail in your race report though since I am living vicariously through you right now! Congrats again! You are the woman!

From josse on Sun, Apr 13, 2008 at 18:23:15

Oh my thanks to everyone for the outporing of support. I feel it with the good, bad, and the ugly. I feel like I owe everyone a big hug and thanks. I feel the support of the blog has helped me accomplish this.

From JamesM on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 02:02:53

Wow, that's a really, really good race. You were just so solid over the last 6 miles. You probably already know this, but that run is far superior (timewise at least) to all your other listed PRs! So yeah, well on your way to blowing your old PRs away.

From JohnK on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 10:10:19

EXCELLENT!!! Congrats!

From Chad on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 11:45:05

From Dale on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 16:50:49

Fantastic race! You showed great discipline and judgement in the early miles and paced yourself absolutely right and it completely paid off. Great work!
