Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

So Yes I am very happy with this race.  I guess the key is to just not care how you do and then the nerves calm down and you race better.

Started out the morning driving up with my sister.  We got lost thanks to googlemap, so I arrived at the start when the last busses were leaving.  I got on to the last bus with people still waiting for the 1st bus to come back down to get them.  I was not going to wait.    So I was alittle frazzled.  Got up to the start and saw all my fastrunningblog friends, warmed up about a half mile and then the race started.  Once again my garmin was not working properly, it keep losing satillite.  So I fool with it to turn off the auto pause.  So my first 3 splits I don't have.  And I never really knew my running time the whole race,  I assumed I was about 3 mins. off,  which it turns out it was 2:36 off.

1 through 3- 20:36

5-6:38

6-6:48

7-6:56

8-7:07

9-7:24 the hills and the head wind start and go through the rest of the miles.

11-7:33

12-7:27

13-7:23

.1-47

Really pleased with this,  it is a 6 min. pr in this race.  Hip is a little sore.  Cooled down with everyone about 2 miles.

Wow! In those windy conditions that is especially remarkable. See you next week.

Josse, very impressive on a tough running day. Your intensity of workouts of the last few weeks has really paid off. Again, very impressive, come back runner, 100 commando points for tenacity and third place.

Way to go Josse! A 6 min PR is huge! Keep up the good work.

Great job on your race! Your splits look really good. I'm glad you didn't miss the start or that being frazzled didn't affect your race.

From Bonnie on Sat, Apr 05, 2008 at 14:27:38

Great run Josse, Anna had told me that both of you were lost!

Have a great weekend. Bonnie

Josse-

Great Job. Huge improvement over Moab, and like you said, you will be sitting pretty when you continue to improve over the summer.

Great finishing time! Yes, it is amazing how much better you can do when you are not worried about time! I've even not worn my watch in a 5-k and have done well!!

From Kim on Sat, Apr 05, 2008 at 17:25:24

Hey Josse, It was fun to get a little warm up time in with you! You are such a fun, down to earth girl! Way to go on a great race! BTW: Tom and I have your medal, we will give it to Sarah on Sunday at the blog party. Maybe they will see you soon. Are you going to the Pachev's Sunday night? If you are, we'll give it to you personally!

From Tom on Sat, Apr 05, 2008 at 18:02:24

Great job today Josie! You've certainly earned this. Especially impressive considering the bad conditions. More impressive races to follow I am sure.

From Jody on Sat, Apr 05, 2008 at 20:28:32

Great race!! It is so frustrating when the pre-race preparation does not go well. You definitely recovered well and did awesome!

Great race Josse! Congrats on strong run in what sounds like less than optimal conditions. Your training has been really good and you deserved a race to show you that.

Take care of the hip and get some rest today.

From Jon on Sun, Apr 06, 2008 at 10:23:38

It was nice to meet you today. Nice job on a tough day- I can't believe you set a 6 min pr with that wind! You should easily crush 1:30 at your next half marathon!

From Ian on Sun, Apr 06, 2008 at 10:40:32
