Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Before I ran Bryce I was going to run des news 10k but had not signed up for it.  After I ran Bryce I didn't want to do the steep down hill that is in Des news.  I really didn't plan on racing at all today, I had no babysitter so I thought it was out of the question.  Then at 10 last night my sister said she would come over and sit in the morning.  I would have like to have done Des news but they don't do same day reg. so I decided to do Speedy sp. 10k.

I really didn't know how I would feel I just thought I wanted a good tempo run.  First 2 I was tired plus they are up hill, then the coarse goes through the SF river bottoms, which is a gradual down with some little rollers.  I think the race went well, I felt better the further I went.  Warmed up with Kent for 1.2 miles

1-7:09  slow start it starts on a norrow street and has some steep up hill.

2-6:41

3-6:33 Starting to feel better and passing lots of people

4-6:42

5-6:51  I always seem to struggle here in races but just want sub 7

6-6:45 regroup and focus for the finish.

.2-1:20

Ran the course backward  minus the first mile with Kent and his friend.  Was dragging the whole way.  Over all happy with the race, feel like it was alittle redeption from the 4th.  Pr in this race:)

You did awesome on your race this morning! I'm amazed at your mileage this week after the Bryce 1/2. Your example will encourage me to try harder.

Hi Josse,

We missed you! Great race - amazing you did this on the heels of the Bryce Canyon race.

Great job, especially after a tough half! I am in awe...

From Jody on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 12:13:26

Congratulations! Way to get a PR! You did an awesome job.

From Merri on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 12:37:09

Way to go Josse! It was nice talking to you today!

From MarcieJ on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 12:53:55

WOW thats great! A PR less than a week after a half that totally trashed your legs. You rock!

From MichelleL on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 12:58:12

Great job Josse! You did much better on this race than I did last year. Your splits look great. You may have struggled a little but you hardly let it affect your pace. There's a big difference between giving up 20 sec and 5 sec in mile 5.

From MarcieJ on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 13:02:07

Michelle hurry and type in your race report! I have been excited to read it all morning!

From James on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 13:14:34

Nice! You either recovered super fast since Monday or you just like to beat your little body up. I didn't run yesterday because of a big knot in my foot. I think I would have got my butt kicked by you down there today. Although, looking at the results I should have been second.

From josse on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 13:34:59

James-make sure you start rolling out that foot so it doesn't turn into anything:)

From mattk on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 14:31:37

Nice PR when you weren't planning on running last night!

From marion on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 15:34:29

Great run!

From Paul T on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 17:21:24

Great race, Josse. Please take this in the positive sense that I mean it...You're an animal! That was our ultimate compliment running track and XC in high school. In fact, "Animal" was the nickname of our fastest XC runner. I think your killer training, gutsy runs on high mileage, and even on trashed legs, qualify you for the title...even though you probably don't want it. :) It felt good to be able to run with you this morning (even if you weren't at 100%), instead of just having you blow by me like in the UVM. SGM should be fun.

From Brent on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 18:01:49

Queen Josse, still holds the crown, nice sub 7 effort on semi trashed legs. You may have been very close to a 10K PR if you had ran Des News. Your time really says positive things about your conditioning.

Stay Kool, Faster and Faster, keep smiling, B of BS Rools out

by the way, chatting with you at Bryce was one of my super positives.

From jtshad on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 18:36:45

Nice run, way to run strong after Bryce. A solid effort that is showing your fitness for St. George.

From luzylew on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 20:11:27

You are amazing Josse! Way to be a 'speedy spainiard,' and on such short notice (and so soon off your 3rd place in Bryce!). You're just burning this place down!

From barry on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 23:41:17

Congratulation on your race. Good job on the PR that is awesome. Keep up the good work...

From Lucia on Thu, Jul 24, 2008 at 23:46:08

Congrats on your PR! Nice work out there! You're sooo lucky to have your sister nearby to help out too, isn't family the best?

From Tom on Fri, Jul 25, 2008 at 19:13:07

Great job on the race, especially after trashing your legs at Bryce. You and Paul T are both looking real good for sub-3 at SGM I'm thinking.

From The Howling Commando on Sat, Jul 26, 2008 at 06:34:52

I agree with Tom. You are ready to drop the hammer at SGM for sure :). Way to go on the races. I don't know how you all do it!
