Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

OK so I felt pretty dead legged the whole race.  Which by the way is one of the mose boring races I have ever run.  James was nice enough to pace me for the race.  Did a 3 mile warm up with the boys.  I think I was so tired for a couple of reasons one being the increase of milage, two the strides on thurs. and last is it is right before that monthly visitor:(   Quads felt like they were not working.  I'm not to pleased with my time I would have and think I am capable of running at this point a 1:03 but oh well.

Good job today. I hope I wasn't too annoying. Chalk it up as a good workout, that is all a winter race ever is to me anyway. Thanks for the scrapping and the ride. Don't worry I won't tell my wife or your husband where that lotion ended up!:0

Great job today!! It is a very BORING race. It was great meeting you! FYI - You were second in our age group!

From Brent on Sun, Feb 24, 2008 at 00:04:34

Josse, no doubt, you have talent that did not show today, nice to meet you. Your right, darn boring race. These winter races, except the striders half, are basically just hard training runs. I had a bad 5K last saturyday, best to not get too up or down about races this time of year.

Hey, so I think you could have done better if you had done the strategy I suggested (start at 7 minute miles and go down from there). What do you think? So why was your first mile so fast? James is a bad, bad pacer :) Try Ted next time :) At any rate, it is a good tempo run and will help your Moab race. I think you can do the Moab at a faster overall pace than this run. You know a little better where you are after this race, (though I agree that you could have shaved off 2-4 minutes off this time), Aunt Flo will have come and gone, and I promise to not take you out for speed the Thursday before :)

Way to drag dead legs through 7 min. miles! I wish I could do that. You're my hero.

You had a great run, and give yourself credit it was a great workout. Your going to have great runs in the future with the training your doing. That monthly visitor seeing how it affect my wife, I can't imagine trying to run. Very nice job today.

Nice to meet you Josse! I look forward to talking to you sometime again. And don't worry it's still early in the season.

From MarcieJ on Sun, Feb 24, 2008 at 11:41:39

I wouldnt worry about todays race at all. I think your time is great, lots of women would love to run that kind of time. We all have days we just dont feel the best and it always bites when it ends up on a race day. THis means you will have a great Moab! plus we can run together and the scenery is alot prettier!

From Cody on Sun, Feb 24, 2008 at 13:37:54

Don't get down Josse. You ran well and will do even better at the half. I am looking forward to you kicking some trash there.

From Tom on Sun, Feb 24, 2008 at 15:15:05

Don't sweat this race much, still pretty good this early in the year. Lots of great races yet to come.
