Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

So I ran a 4 min pr in from last year in this race on the same short course.  I also ran about the same time right before my surgery so that was encourrging.  I still didn't run all out because I had no idea how I would feel.  But ended up feeling good most of the way.  I feel like this is a good start to my year and is very encournging for things to come over the year.  ya

Loved meeting everyone at the party and satying at Marcie's house was alot of fun.  Thanks a bunch.

1-7:06

2-7:05

3-7:01 I am feeling pretty good with this start

4-7:08

5-7:33 steep uphill (I was really nervous for the hills.  I thought they would ware me out more but they surprisingly didn't)

6-7:08 hammer gel

7-7:10

8-7:35 an other uphill, feeling antsy to kick but keep telling myself to wait until ten to pass and work hard

9-7:44

10-7:15 time to pass and not look back

11-7:37 starting to feel it

12-7:31 just tring to hold on

13-7:30 Got encouragement form Sasha that really helped me pick it up.

Overall I am pleased allthough of course after the fact I realize i could have ran alittle faster but good for now.

You did so awesome on Saturday! I am so glad you had a good race and that you felt good after a short training period. You are going to rock in Moab and Ogden. I am so glad you came to stay and got to know you. You are so fun to talk to, I feel like I have known you forever. You must come stay again and I am excited to see you in Moab. Hope you had a safe drive home!

Great job on the PR, Josse. Sounds like you had a good time down there too. Glad that it was a good kick off to this year's racing for you.

What a great comeback race for you! You have been so tough through this longer than expected recovery, but this is the kick off race to your best season ever! I am excited to see you kick butt and chick left and right this season.

I had a great time this weekend on my very first ladies' trip away from my kids. Thanks for driving up and down with me and sharing Marcie's guest bedroom with me. How fun to have my first get away running centered. Thanks for helping me shop - accountants aren't good doing that!

Good job yesterday. It was good to see you again, and you ran great. You have to be pleased after all you have been doing the last couple of months, and still being able to run that well.

Great job Josse! Looks like your BACK!

From Brent on Mon, Jan 21, 2008 at 13:13:23

Josse, I have never ran painters, but, it seems much tougher than Hobble Creek. Given the course difference, I would say very good race considering the circumstances. 25 commando points for improving you time from last year and a gutsy effort. Have a great running year.
