I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Met Michelle and MacK in Springville to do a good 7 mile warmup before the race.  We got soaked, it was wet and cold.  So I changed gloves before the race, I would have change my top as well but I didn't have one.  So Michelle ran the cousre once fast before the race and was planning on pacing me.  We lined up to start and no Michelle, I looked and looked but she was no where to be seen.  The gun went off.  The 1st mile is a good uphill climb follow by a flat mile and then ending with a down hill to a track and finishing with  almost a full lap of the track.  Michelle ended up catching me from behind at about mile 1 and was a great pacer and helped me not slack off.  Splits by my garmin which wheren't right on but pretty close.

1-6:53 the lady calling out splits said it was a 6:43 when I passed pretty happy with that because I felt good and it was uphill.  In the middle of this mile I saw the main pack up in front of me and I was at the front of the 2nd pack.  I decided I wasn't going to be there and cought up to that main pack.  I am a main packer.  I am a main packer. ect....

2-6:30 Passing people and feeling pretty good.  Michelle is having me slap her fives and the end of this mile.

3-6:21  Starting to feel it but only 1 mile left.  I can do that.  Pass some more people.

.1-27  Was disapointed when I saw the clock and I had just missed a sub 20 min 5k but all in all was a good workout and I actually like it.

Cooled down 4 miles on the course backwards and froze my behind off so I didn't wait around anymore to see what place I got over all.  But I think I was at least in the top 10.  This was a pretty big 5k with 1500+ people.

Congratulations on the race again Josse! I think that you ran the race really tough, and you stayed mentally in the game the whole time, which is one of the hardest parts about racing. It's great to have a race like this because it will transfer to other races in the summer. Its a sign of good things to come!

Congrats on some awesome splits! You are very mentally tough! I cant believe its so cold up there still, this years weather is insane. Again Great Job! oh so glad your visitor arrived:)

Great job on your race! Arizona Rock'n'Roll is my favorite race ever. I have always done the half. It's really fun and a good break from the winter weather.

Nice job!

Great job, Josse! I stuck around for the awards and I think I heard them call your name for 2nd and MacK for 3rd in your division. You'll have to check the official results when they are available to be sure.

Thanks for letting me beat you today, even if it was only by 10 seconds. I was certain the whole race that you were ahead of me. Seeing you blow by me in the Utah Valley marathon, hearing how strongly you finished to win it, and knowing what great shape you are in, it feels really good to have been able to match your performance today (especially after the way I crashed and burned in that marathon). Now I just need to be able to do it for 26.2 miles instead of 3.1.
