Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

So  I didn't have the race I wanted, I felt the same way I did in the last race only I got the pleasure to have side stiched as well (fun stuff).  New I wasn't going to have a good race from the get go.  Side ache, quads tired and felt trashed and my head just wasn't in it.   But that is ok just look to the next one and hope my leg get used this higher milage so they feel some what decent.

Sorry the race didn't go as you had hoped. I know for me it took a while for the high mileage training to kick in. I'm confident you'll be seeing some killer PR races later in the year.

From James on Sun, Mar 09, 2008 at 19:46:21

Too bad about about the rough race. Your time to shine is soon. Besides, when you finally cash in all those commando points the bad races won't even matter! :)

From wheakory on Sun, Mar 09, 2008 at 20:50:39

I'm sorry, but chalk this up has a good training run. Like you mentioned the high mileage in your training weeks to come will

so what you can really do in your next race. Your a great runner and your just getting started.

From Paul Petersen on Sun, Mar 09, 2008 at 21:27:16

Josse - it was great to finally meet you. Don't worry about the race; I imagine it's mostly a product of heavy training load. It will pay off during the summer.

From MichelleL on Sun, Mar 09, 2008 at 22:13:42

Josse-I agree with all that has been posted. It takes a while for the high mileage to pay off. Are you not going to post splits? Did you do a sub-6 minute first mile? jk

From josse on Sun, Mar 09, 2008 at 22:17:27

thanks a bunch everyone, nice to meet you as well Paul, sorry I didn't get to show you more stretchs and the scraping thing.

Michelle I will post them I just didn't want to go get the garmin when I posted this and no I didn't start out that fast, although the garmin keep losing signal in the caynon so they aren't right.

From Lybi on Sun, Mar 09, 2008 at 22:44:05

Great job Josse, and sorry it didn't turn out as you'd hoped. Boy, I just admire you so much that a bad half for you is still under 1:38. You're a dynamo!

PS I just looked at your quilting blog and I am so impressed. Cute!

From Cody on Sun, Mar 09, 2008 at 23:27:44

Josse-

You were great company for the drive! Keep at it and things will fall into place. You will be ready at Striders 1/2!

From Bethany on Sun, Mar 09, 2008 at 23:34:52

So great to meet you and loved the time to chat and get to know you better. Thanks for making the drive fly. Ditto to above comments. But I think you have it in perspective and are gonna kill at all your races this year. Im excited to see the slaughter.

From Benn on Mon, Mar 10, 2008 at 07:37:01

Good job getting out there and through the race, Josse! I don't care, 1:37 is still respectable and I agree that you could always pawn it off as a training run; you certainly have put on the mileage already this year! keep it up!

From jtshad on Mon, Mar 10, 2008 at 09:08:32

Keep up the strong running and your goals/PR's will fall this spring. You are running well...your best is yet to come.

From Craig on Mon, Mar 10, 2008 at 09:46:42

Josse- sorry to hear that the race wasn't quite what you wanted. Fortunately, it sounds like you're healthy. I feel like I owe some amount of "thanks" for your explanation of gua-sha (scraping). It has helped my lower calf/achilles issues to the point where they are no longer a factor.

From MarcieJ on Mon, Mar 10, 2008 at 13:18:06

It was so fun to see you and hang out with you again! You are going to rock in all your upcoming races. You are a strong runner!!!!!! Let me know about the Hurricane 1/2.

From Steve Hooper on Mon, Mar 10, 2008 at 18:07:46

Josse - Sorry you you didn't have the race you were hoping for - next time. 1:37 is actually a pretty good time for that course, especially early in the season.

From Chad on Tue, Mar 11, 2008 at 14:25:16

Josse--let me add to the crowd here and say that you don't have anything to be disappointed about. You ran a solid time on a challenging course. It's early in the season and if anything this should just give you motivation to continue training hard and racing.
