I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Just to let you all know that the race started 1 hour late, I was running in a costume that was very confining, and I felt pretty aweful the whole race.  But I did have parts that I had fun and it was fun up at the start hanging out in the lodge and chatting with people.  It was a cold morning so I didn't venture out for a warmup, just started the race.  I was feeling like my fuel and fluids where gone and the water stops where no good for getting water, the cups where bad and the cold made it hard to hold on to the cups.  The first 4.5 where a steep down and then you have a little bit of up hill before you get on the path for a nice gentle down hill.

2-6:06

3-5:59

4-6:20

5-6:42

6-7:24 I felt the worst through 5.5-7.  I wanted to stop and be done, really I did I saw my mom and almost turned back and got a ride.  I feel like I am running a 10 min mile and am a little light headed.

7-7:34

8-7:12 starting to feel better.

9-7:22

10-7:17 See JeffL and was glad to have him to carry me in.

11-7:27

12-7:31

13-6:54

I am not disappointed because I felt pretty bad and thought I was going to end up running a 1:40 so a 1:30 was a lot better.

*update-so it looks like they didn't get Mary ann in the results so that bumped me down a spot ending up with 5 place overall and 2nd in my age group.

You're still speedy even when you're not feeling great. Congratulations on your 4th place finish and winning your division.

Nice finish Josse! I can attest to the costume...she was brave, braver than I! I'm so glad you had a good finish and didn't catch that ride. You are amazingly speedy even when you're feeling stinky :)

You ran a great race girly. Who else can say they placed wearing a leotard? I had so much fun, it's sad my expectations for being entertained have sunk so low. But seriously, it was fun to see you guys at the start, even more at the finish! You are so awesome. I hope your pictures look better than mine. I look like a very dumpy bride in mine (one the groom would probably run away from). You were so cute. I loved doing that (all except for the late start and busses). Have a fun Halloween. I hope you get hydrated, rested and get a few trickortreats :)

Luz you looked great, really I looked at your pics on facebook and you did look like you were having the time of your life. Which i think is just fine:) Who cares that we think dressing up and running 13 miles is fun.

From LuzyLew on Sat, Oct 31, 2009 at 17:46:55 from 69.169.167.157

I am embarrassed to admit how much fun I had. I always loved Halloween as a kid. I loved the costumes, parties, apples, fall leaves, running around with friends. It was nice to recapture that spirit 34 years later. I was so happy to have something fun to do today, it made my week! It was great to see you and Ericka too!

Great job comming in fourth even when your feeling under par.

From Walter on Sun, Nov 01, 2009 at 10:38:47 from 76.27.13.75

Josse, it was fun chatting with ya and getting to know you. I had a blast and could tell in your pics you had the same! Im glad I ran it because it helped me make my mind up for Mesquite. Theres no way my legs will be back to full in 3 weeks for the full marathon. Half marathon will have to be my last race of the year.

It was so fun meeting you! You made me laugh so hard when I saw your finishing touches to your costume. Thanks for being a pace target, even though you were a little far from me. The last few miles I would look in the distance and watch for the silver pants.

Good job again and way to stay strong those last few miles.

I am excited to look up some pictures on facebook. You have a nice time despite the race issues. Who put on the race? And is it the same course at the Provo 1/2 by Kurt?

From josse on Sun, Nov 01, 2009 at 14:56:24 from 70.193.20.115

I am not sure the guys name that did this but he has a site on facebook. And no it was not the same, the beginning and end were different.

From marion on Sun, Nov 01, 2009 at 15:44:26 from 71.213.119.74

NICE JOB!!! I can not imagine running in a costume, tricky business. But it sounds like it was a super fun race.
