Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 21, 13, and 7 and a dog named Koda.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running.

Met with Marie, Rebecca, and Melody this morning and went to the Mouth of Provo canyon.  We saw Becca and her friend and talked them into coming up the canyon with us.  Then another girl that Marie knew named Julie ran on us so she joined as well.  We tured around after a couple of miles and Julie came with us, she does most of her training on her own and wants people to run with so I think she will start coming with us.  Back felt pretty good and I wanted to go more but didn't want to over do it so I didn't.  I even felt decent enough at the end to run a couple of 7:30's.

I am very happy I was able to get in 6 days this week.  Even if the mileage isn't that much.

Back feels pretty good today.  Took the dog up on the muddy trails and had a blast.  It really wasn't to bad, just in a few spots the shoes got caked with mud.  My dog loved the puddles of water.  Back felt good except on the steep downhill at the end.  But the deep achiness is gone so that is good, just some tightness left.  Came home and stretched really good.

Got up and met Marie, Rebecca, and Julie cam as well.  Felt good today although I think I should have stopped at 6 miles the back is alittle sore.  Had a good run with most of the splits at 8 or below.  It feels good to be able to run faster than I have been able to.

My back was sore after yesterday's run, really discouraging, but I knew I should have just stuck with only  6 miles.  I decided to just bike today with the help of the weather.  I love that I am not training for anything right now because I don't feel like I need to go run in a  blizzard.

Got up and met with all the girls at Marie's house.  Ran the same little loop we did last time except I didn't add on more.  Marie calls this the Will's loop.  Didn't feel that great, but the back wasn't as sore as yesterday.  Made myself just do the 5 and be done.

Took the dog up on the trails today.  Did the Bonniville shoreline from the shooting range parking lot.  Had a fairly good run.  Went to Dr. Brady's and got accupunture.  He said I need to take a week or two off so I am going to do it.  My body has been screaming that anyway, so I will not run for a week.  He did say I can still bike, swim, and walk.  I am also going to atempt to do the 3 day apple clease and see if that helps clear some of the stiffness out of my back.  UGG wish me luck!  I will need it.

Day one of the apple fast-already hate it.  I love food.  And I woke up with a major headache and stiff back but hopefully this will help all that.

day 2 of juice fast feel better than yesterday, headache is not as bad.  Hunger is not as bad, think I can do this.

Day 3, final day yaaaaaa!!!  Last night I didn't want to do this any more but I kept telling myself you have made it this far just one more day.   Man time has never gone so slow.  I think the worst thing is making food for my family.  Last night my husband made brownies and the smell was killing me.  I did find this new kind of apple that is soooo good it is called Honey crisp.  It tastes just as is sounds. 

Weight when started 126

Weight today 119 a little low for me, but I am sure it will come back on when I start eating normally.

I am so happy to be done with the apple cleanse.  I feel pretty good today, my usual headache is not so noticeable.  I was thinking to myself I was excited to go out and run but then I remebered I was taking the whole week off.  My back does feel pretty good.  No deep soreness, I don't know if that is from the cleanse or just not running.   I just biked today 30 mins.  I am not sure if I would do this cleanse again.  It was torcher, it wouldn't have been so bad except for making meals for my family.  I did try and take the half cup of olive oil and made it one swallow and could tell I was going to through up if I drank and more, so I took the rest in fish oils because they are much easier to down for me.

Took my dog for a walk for about 1.5 miles.  Came home and rode the bike for 35 mins and then did yoga for 30 mins.  Can feel the tightness around my sacrum, not as bad but could feel it.  GRRR

Back was pretty sore yesterday for some reason.  Woke up with it not as bad but decided just to do yoga today.  Hope I can get over this soon and start to run.

Took my dog up on the trails and walked, my sister came along as well.  Was beautiful up there today.  went 3 miles.  I am thinking more and  more that I have tendonitis in the sacral ligaments as well as upper hamstring attachments and is just going to take time to get better.  That probably means taking more than just a week off.  But we will see, not minding so much I think my body and mind need a break.  I do miss it though.

Woke up feeling sick, sore throat and stuff.  Haven't really felt that great scence the apple thing.  I think lots of toxins trying to get out.  Biked for 20 mins and then did yoga for 20 mins.  Back is slowly feeling better.  Decided I was going to be agressive with it which means daily scraping, ice/heat, and yoga.  And only exercise if I think it can handle it.  I really wanted to go out for a short run but resisted I might try on monday.

So after biking on sat. my left siatic flared up.  This is differant than what I have been dealing with, if fact the old back thing seems to be doing good.  I was really frustrated.  Today I decided to go the rec center and test some running.  I did 2 miles on the treadmill and it seemed fine.  Then I did 20 min of pool running which seem to aggrivate the siatic alittle and then swam for 15 mins.  After I hopped back on the treadmill for another mile and then did my back and ab excerises.  The running seems to not hurt at all compared to the other stuff, weird.  Then I came home and did yoga.

Went out today in the nice 60 degree weather.  I was great.  I would have loved to go longer but have to work back into things slowly.  Took the dog out around town.  Back felt pretty good.

The siatic flaired up yesterday, id felt better this morning but  decided to just walk this morning.  Not what I want but have to listen and obey what the body says.  Went with my sister and the dog up on the trails.  It was so warm and pretty up there, we went 4.3 miles.

Got up at 7am and went an easy 3 with the dog.  My back didn't hurt, I guess how I will do it is if my back (siatic)  hurts I won't run and if it doesn't then I will.

Went up on the trails and walked again today with my sister and my dog.  We went 4.5 miles.  Again another beautiful day, we really have been spoiled this fall.  I went to Dr. Brady yesterday and said I have a really weird siatic and that my hips are just doing to much work.  Thus the chronic siatic pain.  My knees and anlkes need to learn to do more work.  So I ordered orthitics to help my legs retrain.

The siatic was up and down all weekend, but is feeling better.  I went to the rec center and ran 4 miles on the treadmill in 32 mins and then pool ran for 20 mins and swam 4 laps.  Didn't have any pain with the pool running or swimming, last time I did.   I still think I will have to play it by ear for a while.  Came home and did my back and abs.

Got up and met with Marie, Julie and Rebecca. Was nice to run with people although I think I over did it.  Hopefully I will be ok,  I did yoga when I got home and am ice/head my glute and will scrape later.  The sciatic is flared up a bit.  I will take tomorrow off and see.  It is not as bad as it was.  It is hard to be patiant.

No running today, I wanted to give the sciatic a break.  I did do some deep work on it yesterday and scraped it.  I felt better, though I am sore form the deep work (yes I did it myself).  I did my back/ab excersises and 30 mins of yoga.  Trying to decide if I should go and do a turky run tomorrow, I am so out of shape, but  I would like to get some miles in.  I guess I can just do that on my own. 

Really missing running everyday and the amount I want.  Injuries suck, I know most of you can sympathize with me.

Walked with my sister for 2.5 miles with the dog.

Met up with Michelle, Mckenzie and the SF running group for there Thanksgiving day run.  It was so fun to run with the girls again, it seems like it has been forever, it has been for Mac.  Had a good little run and my back feels pretty good afterwards.
