I slept  in this morning, can you believe that.  I got over 8.5 hours of sleep, WOW that is amazing.  I took my kids up the canyon around 11:30, way to hot.  I pushed my son in the jogger and my daughter was in her speedy wheelchair.  Very nice slow run.

Met Michelle, Adam, James, Matt, Merri and her friend at the mouth of Provo canyon.  We went from the mouth up to the dam and back.  I thought I was going to feel crappy but ended up having a great run.  Mostly just ended up running with James after the first 6 miles.  We progressivly got faster on the way down and he made me kick it up a gear or two the last half mile.  We were running sub-6 pace the last little bit.  Legs felt good and James kept me entertaned with stories the whole way.  So the run went by really quick.  Ice in the not so icy river and then worked on James alittle.

I feel like the most important thing for me to do this week is sleep.   My goal is to get more of it and hopefully that will help me feel better when I run.  I felt so good training for my spring marathons and am not doing much more except getting less sleep so I know I need to be getting more.  Crossing my fingers that my husband will be finished with this job by the end of the week and with school starting in two weeks, I know my days of more sleep are coming.  I will cut back just a little because of Provo half marathon and I want to feel good in this race, not like i did at Bryce.  Somewhere between 65-70 miles, so not a huge cutback (I will save that for Hobble creek) but maybe just enough for them to feel good.

My getting sleep didn't workout this morning because I had to be home at 6am.  So I was up at 4:15am ran an easy 10 and know I am going back to bed.  Temple loop

progrid(290.1)

afternoon-went out around 2:45 in the canyon, hot but not as hot as in the city.  Just ran easy, I fell down my stairs carring my vaccume and landed on my back on the bottom step and it is very sore now.  Hope it is ok and doesn't give me to much grief.  2.5 up and back.

8:30 avg. pace

Got 7.5 hours sleep totall after I went back to sleep this morning.  Pretty good.

I got to sleep in this morning, my mom came over so I didn't have to go at 4 am.  so I got 8 hours of sleep.  My back is quite sore though and affected my run today (going to the chiro tomorrow).  Right SI is really sore as well as my neck.  Could feel shooting pain down my right leg when I tried to run fast so the speed didn't work out like I wanted.  Ran over to the Orem rec outdoor  track, which is 800 meters long.  Did 4x800 @  3:01 (1:18 rest), 3:01 (2:29), 3:08 (2:05), 3:09 I decided to be done because my back was hurting.  Then just ran easy.  Felt alright.

Back still sore, stretched really good last night and it does feel alittle better but can still feel it.  Woke up and ran fairly easy, was tired at the end but felt good most of the run.  Got alittle over 7 hours of sleep, this is so much better than I have been doing.

I decided instead of getting up at 4 this morining I would sleep in and push my son around the block for 8 miles.  I did 5 and then my sister came over to help me with my quickbooks.  And then I finish up with 2 more with my dog and pushing in the jogger and then dropped the dog off and went one more.  I got almost 9 hours of sleep.

I had the choice of getting up at 4am or sleeping in and taking my son in the jogger.  I slept in and got 9.5 hours of sleep.  I actually woke up at 5am and wasn't really tired anymore I would have ran then but my husband was leaving for work so I ate something and went back to bed and slept until 8:30.

I went to the park and did 2 mile barefoot in the grass and finished up on the road pushing my son.  Feel good.

I am sorely disapointed, I cut my miles alittle and got more sleep so I really thought I would feel better and race better.  I don't know but I just pooped out in  the end and just gave up mentally.  I just want to bag it all together:(  I can't figure out why I am not racing the way I know I can.  I really thought a sub 1:30 would be in the bag today.  I just want to cry!

My moring started with my mom waking me up.  I don't know what happened but I didn't wake up to my alarm.  So ready in 2 mins. flat ( at least I got a PR for that)  glad I had everything ready to go.  Then we had to wait for the 2nd round of buses so didn't really get a warmup just about a half mile waiting for the buses.  Get to the start and a quick bush stop and the race starts.

1-6:12 oh man I have to pee.

2-6:27 still have to pee but I don't want to stop

3-6:29

4-6:48

5-6:58

6-7:09 big hill

7-6:34

8-6:29 laped this mile but I think it was really short

9-6:52

10-6:56 (1:06:56)

11-7:01

12-7:24

13-7:28 completely falling to pieces and I still have to pee.

.18-1:15

The end just really broke me down.  Cooled down with Michelle.

Ice bath and don't worry I am not giving up on running just feeling really sorry for myself and trying to figure out where my training should go to get faster.

Not that sore form yesterday, alittle in the calves but nothing like Bryce.  Did a good secion of yoga this moring.

Regroup and refocus...I want to keep training hard and see if it will pay off in the marathon.  I still want to really focus on getting a good amount of sleep because I know that is a big part of my fatigue.  I am also going to get my iron tested to see if that is a factor.  As for running 70-75 miles this week with a focus on 2 really quality workouts (tues. and sat.).   Here we go:) 8 weeks and counting....

Went to bed last night not feeling well. And woke up not feeling well. Right lymph on my neck is really swollen and felling very pukey. But I didn't want to ditch out on Michelle so I went for the run any way. I did opt out of the tempo though, Matt came along feeling the same way I did so we ran together and Michelle did her tempo with Sasha. Not a good run but it's done. Had a couple of time when I thought I was going to lose my cookies but I didn't.

Went to bed way to late, those dang Olypmics.  Got up at 5:45 and was tired, but went out any way.  Felt alright I guess, sometimes it felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest.  I miss those days when almost every run felt good.  There is something about the end of summer and just being tired.  OH well, such is life.  Went out and back 9 by myself and then 2 with the dog.

Got to bed earlier last night.  Made myself go to bed after the swimming.  I love watching the swimming.

Got up and did the Temple loop.  Felt good, didn't feel like I was dragging the whole way.  Happy about that.  Took the dog out for 1.5 miles at the end.

I started watching the women gymnastics but told myself sleep was more important and I could watch it on the web tomorrow so I went to bed.  Got up earlier and went out by myself.  Did something alittle differant which was nice.  Feeling better than I was.  I have been taking Iron scence last sat., I haven't had time to get it checked but I am pretty sure I was low.  Getting decent sleep as well, not as good as last week but better than I was doing.  Ran 9 and then took my dog on a leash and son in the jogger 2 more.

Had a great workout today.  Met Michell, Mer, and James at the finish of the hobble course then we drove to about the half way point and ran up to the start.  Used the facilities there and went alittle bit more up then turned and ran to the start again.  There we started a 3 mile tempo, my goal pace was 6:30.  I was pretty much on my own after this, James and Michelle where up ahead and Mer was behind.  Then I did a miles easier and then another 3 mile tempo follow by another easy mile then a 2 mile tempo.

1st set (miles 1-3 of the course)- 1-6:20, 2-6:17, 3-6:13  total time 18:50

rest mile 7:13

2nd set  (miles 5-8) 1-6:26, 2-6:23, 3-6:45 (climb out the golf course)  total time 19:34

rest mile 7:41

3rd set (miles 9-10) was tired on this one and it shows  1-7:02, 2-6:50 total time 13:52

2:33:39 for the whole run

ice bath

Nothing like running on beat up legs (got a massage last night), pushing a 40 pound kid in a jogger into the wind in the heat to make you feel tired.  But I got er done.

Had a pretty good workout today.  I went by myself when the kids where in school and the heat did get to me alittle in the end but I am happy I was able to do what I had planned.  Did 3x1miles on the rock canyon mile, has a quater flat then a quater downhill then a quater flat and ends with downhill.  Warmed up 2.5 miles and then started-1-6:02 recovery .57 uphill back to the start. 2-6:05 w/ .55 recovery 3-6:11 wanted to get faster with each one but was getting hot and I was getting tired.  Finished up with really easy running back to my car.

Took my son in the jogger up the canyon.  My left ankle feels like it is out and is sore.  Going to get it put back in this afternoon.  Started feeling yucky yesterday in the stomack and still not feeling the best, diaphram feels like it is in my throat so it feels hard to breath.  Tried pulling it down myself and is super sore.  I think I will have the doc look at that as well.

Went to Dr. Brady's partner yesterday to get my ankles put back in.  He worked the left one really good and it hurt like nothing other.  But he got both of them back in and they feel better, although the left one is sore from him working on it.  But it didn't interfere with running.  Got up and did my easy 5 mile loop and then took the dog for a mile.

Short report-Happy with a pr still not feeling the freshest but better so I will take it.  Stuck with my plan of starting out alittle easier and then cranking it down.

My game plan and goal for today was to start out at an easier avg. pace then I would end up with and to stay storger at the end.  I think I did pretty well at that.  Warmed up with Marci and Michelle at the start and stretched.  Ran the fisrt little bit with Bruce and Melanie, Bruce backed down after 2 miles and Mel went ahead about mile 5 so I was on my own.   Started the race not really feeling fresh, middle felt alittle better but not great and end was hard but was determind to finish better than Provo half.  Splits by miles markers

1-6:40 Good start just what I wanted

2-6:17

3-6:22

4-6:12

5-6:24

6-6:27  Feeling pretty good with this but know the work begins.  Took my gu at 6.5

7-6:45

8-6:05 I think this mile was short,  on the path with the rollers.

9-6:49

10-6:54

11-6:59  feeling the wheels coming off, but digging deep to finish strong.  This mile starts with that leg killer hill. uggg

12-6:53

13-7:02 darn wanted all sub-7's

All in all I am happy with today.  Ankle is sore, kind of wonder if I am getting some tendonitis in it.  Hope it ok.

Left ankle was pretty sore after the race.  Iced it all day, feels better today but still questionalbe.  I kind of knew it was going to be this way after the race and told myself on the way home that if this is the end for the year I have had a great year.  I had a pr in the half and the marathon, which I haven't had in 7 years.  I have meet alot of great people and have had some great training runs.  So if SG is out I will be ok with it, of course I hope it is not but I can't contoll if my ankle is going to be injured or not.  Watched the mens marathon last night and scraped the ankle and calves.

I will take it by ear this week and probably do alot of crosstraining.  We will see....

Got up this morning not really expecting to run.  I took the dog out for a mile to test out the ankle, felt alittle twingy at first but once it warmed up it felt ok.  So I went out for another 5 after and actually felt pretty good post hobble.  Still am watching the ankle really close.  Had it on ice all weekend and scraped it everyday.  Just happy I was able to run considering how sore it was all weekend:)

On my own for speed today.  The plan was to do some sort of tempo run in the canyon.  I went when the kid where in school.  Started at Will pit stop and warmed up for 3 miles then started into a 2 miles tempo up the canyon 7:01, 7:16 for those 4:50 break then another 2 mile tempo the other direction so down the canyon 6:35, 6:37 with a 3:15 break then I wanted another 2 mile tempo but broke into 2x1 miles cause I was getting tired and had no one there to push me through it.  6:38 (1:47 break) & 6:41.  These last two are out of the canyon where it is more just flat.  So all in all I am pleased that I finished this work out.  Ankle alittle sore.

BTW- i went off the triangles and not the garmin, although my garmin was right on as well.

Went to Dr. Brady and had him work on the ankle some today.  My left lateral soulus is super tight a result of the ankle.  He says I need new shoes, that I am not a spring chicken anymore:)  And he really likes how I have been doing barefoot running and wants me to get doing it again.
