I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Got up and met with Sasha this moring.  We ran easy, which is what I needed just a nice recovery run.   Nothing to exciting just lots of bug to choke on.

progrid(162.3)

Pm another 3, 2 barefoot on the grass one on the road.  I took my sister, dog, son and daughter with me.  This was interesting.  On the way home we did a mile loop on the road, my son was on his scooter.  He fell just before we got home and scraped his knee.  He just informed me he thinks he will still be able to walk.  I also wanted to test out to see how fast my daugters electric wheelchair goes so we went down the street to test it on speed 4, it has 5 speeds,  I clocked her going 6:58 and was to tired to go any faster.  This surprised me because her old wheelchair only went around a 10 min mile.  She did not want to test out the top speed.

I dream of the day that 8:32 will be one of my splits- maybe next summer :) I love reading your blog!

I hear bugs have lots of protein :)

Yes, what Marion said... I dream of the day 8:32 will be an "easy run" for me too... You're an inspiration Josse!

From marion on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 15:50:33

Hey Lucia, I have to be honest here- I'd like to just be able to have 1 split in the 8's ;)

From josse on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 15:53:37

Marion-I will pace you for one sometime soon.

From marion on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 15:57:14

Do you know CPR? =) Seroiusly? OK, I'm game. Kim R will have to come, she's a trauma nurse at UVRMC ;) Plus I want a witness to the SPEED!

From josse on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 15:59:19

Yes I do know CPR so you will be ok. When and where do you want to do it?

From marion on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 16:16:33

AHHHHHH !!

Truly- when can YOU squeeze me in? Are there anydays you are gonna be down here training with Michelle in the next few weeks? I can meet you one of those days for the monumentious(sp?) one mile split and then you two can dust me :)

From josse on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 16:30:11

We usually meet at hobble creek on thurs. but not this week so next week. I will give you more details when it gets closer. So what I was thinking is we could all warm up 2 miles together and then pace you on the downhill for a super spectacular mile pr. then you can continue with your run and me and Michelle will do our tempo.

From marion on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 16:44:17

Perfect! I'll look forward to it! EEEEK!

Hey there is this red warning type notice on your page- am I commenting wrong?

From josse on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 17:32:12

No it's on everyones now. Sasha's new addition for people to keep it "family friendly".

From Adam RW on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 17:39:56

Big brother is watching...

It's funny that regulating what and where people comment is a big issue but logging mileage correctly isn't?

Also, I have yet to ever see someone not be family friendly...

From josse on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 17:44:09

I have seen a couple of off blog names before but for the most part I think people abide to the family friendlyness.

From Adam RW on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 18:15:43

Josse, I agree that the reminders are helpful at keeping the "family friendlyness". I sometimes have to remind myself and edit a message before I hit send. Also, sometimes a conversation will start up and then continue on the next day's entry and I'll miss it because I only check back on the initial entry. So the first two points I think are very important. I think for the third it depends. Almost everything I comment on is for the blogger but I want others to see it as well because it might spark discussion. If "truly" private, meaning recipients eye's only then I send a private message. My main point is that we can have such strict rules for blog comments that have never sparked debate but can't have a set "standard" for how to log different training mileage enforced that has obviously (sadly enough) sparked the most debate on the blog over the last few weeks...

From marion on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 18:29:41

Hey, I was just worried I had been swearing and didn't notice ;)

Oh and about the mileage recording discussion, I found it pretty entertaining =) I am the least commpetivie person on the whole blog and didn't even know about the mileage board until I read that "fight." (I did not mean to start another heated debate or anything- I'm just a newbie who is a big Josse fan ;)

From Adam RW on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 18:39:03

But Marion, debates are the spice of life :)

From josse on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 18:54:39

I agree Adam I love a good debate. And I also agree with the last one.

Do you have a promlem with swearing and not knowing it Marion? Oh and it is so flattering to know I have fans out there:)

From Pinkie on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 21:23:50

Wow thats a pretty fast chair. I only wish I could run that fast!

From marion on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 21:49:02

Debates are very good- that mileage counting one seemed to be a bit of a forest fire :)

About the swearing, when I was pregnant, we joked that I have Pregnancy Induced Turrets(sp?) Syndrome. I have an unfortunate potty mouth. (and I can't spell :)

From Scott Zincone on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 23:32:47

Josse speaking of "fans"..I see you have 360 monthly visitors to your blog. I wonder if that is a blog record?

From josse on Wed, Jul 02, 2008 at 23:37:02

No Sasha has double that amount.

From Scott Zincone on Thu, Jul 03, 2008 at 00:00:11

But when he added the counter he mentioned his did not count. His is linked a different way or something like that.

From luzylew on Thu, Jul 03, 2008 at 00:41:24

Next time you have some slow miles (8:00-8:30 m/m) to run on the trail over here, I'd love to tag along for a bit. It may be 'slow' for you guys, but a good opportunity for me to run a little faster! My fastest friend lives clear out in Mapleton. P.S. That chair is pretty zippy. My Dad had one and he was constantly running into the walls and stubbing his toes. Better not try it out full speed (at least not in the house!).

From josse on Thu, Jul 03, 2008 at 10:05:58

Luz-we would love to have you anytime. I have dents in my walls as well but she is really good at it know and rarely run into anything now. She can only go on speed three indoors. And last time she went on the top speed it made her do pop o wheelys so she hasn't tried it again.

From Sasha Pachev on Thu, Jul 03, 2008 at 18:16:14

Adam:

The reasons the above is in red is that a fair share of bloggers have not been reading it when it was in black in every notification e-mail. We have done very well with the family safe part. A few times I had to send warnings and clean up the database, but happens so rarely that I have not bothered to take the time to install an automatic profanity filter. The blog community in general has not done as well with the other two points.

From Adam RW on Thu, Jul 03, 2008 at 18:26:36

Sasha, I agree they are good reminders and I think my comments were supportive. I was more so just taking another dig at the mileage issue. Maybe one of these days I'll let that go. Today is a good day for that...

From Sasha Pachev on Thu, Jul 03, 2008 at 21:00:06

Adam - you know that parable of the widow and the unjust judge in the New Testament? Well, I think I'll add a message to the list of messages on the data entry page about the cross-training mileage.

From Adam RW on Thu, Jul 03, 2008 at 21:44:20

Luke 18... Thank you.
