Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Hard race for me, as hard as I worked on my metal game these past few weeks I totally gave up:( it's frustrating when you truly believe you can run a better time and then you don't. The day was just hard all around, never felt good, headwind to deal with and lega just felt blah.:-/ I don't know where to go from here.......

keep your head up, josse. i'm sorry it was a tough day. i also felt blah and i have no idea what was up today...

you proved over and over in your training that you are fit and strong, and it's unfortunate that it all comes down to one day if that day happens to be off. but you'll get that breakthrough race. you definitely have it in you.

i enjoyed reading the highlight article in the race guide last night. you're pretty awesome. :)

Josse, I'm so sorry it was such a tough day! You are an awesome athlete and I truly admire you. I have seen you overcome so many trials and obstacles! I know you will triumph once again! Lotsa hugs to you!!!

Oh, the wind took a lot out of most runners, it seems. You are a talented runner who is definitely capable of going sub -three. Your day is coming....

When I saw you at mile 22, I could tell you were in "gut it out" mode. I'm sorry it wasn't your day. Recover and learn from it....then move on.

I think you are an amazing running! Keep at it Josse!

Josse I say keep your head up! With the weather how it was and how everything played out sometimes you just have to race the elements instead of the clock, and just give it your all. I think you did a great job regardless!

I enjoyed reading your race report. I'm sorry for your disappointment. I admire your strength and endurance. You'll have your day, maybe when you least expect it...or maybe never, but that's okay.

I've learned to find happiness in just giving my all and taking what the day gives me. I used to enjoy our friendly rivalry. In this marathon I was happy to finish over an hour behind you. It's not likely I'll ever compete with you again, but I'll always enjoy crossing paths on the trail. Keep smiling.

We have all had those hard days. Seems like I have them quite often now days. You are a tough chica and will bounce back to a better day. Still a solid run.

rough day. You have a sub 3 in you. It will happen. Don't give up. Great to see you and your fam after the race. MIH

I am truly impressed with how well you did even with having an off day! You gritted it out, and gave it all you had even though your mind and body said otherwise. It's these tough times that make the perfect ones even better!

From Rachelle on Wed, Jun 18, 2014 at 10:11:02 from 159.212.71.77

Loved the candid report Josse. I know exactly what you are capable of and truly believe that your day is right around the corner. I know it is frustrating to not execute a race you know you are capable of. But hang in there and when it happens it will make it all that more satisfying.

From RileyCook on Fri, Jun 20, 2014 at 10:11:58 from 172.56.14.232

Really great write up! It's frustrating to work so hard and not be able to "spend the money you earned".

I like your thoughts on no watch and not caring about time. That's what I did at phoenix and it was nice to just run/race and not worry at all about splits.

Keep on it, you'll get your goal one of these times and when you do it'll be even sweeter!

Josse, that's still pretty cool that you took first in your age. This is a funny sport, and it's pretty hard to figure out at best. But it's a lot like Golf, I can practice and prepare like crazy for a tournament and still show up on game day and lay and egg. After all these years I still can not figure why.! You're doing the right things. Hang in there

Sorry things didn't turn out like you hoped. UVM seems to be cursed with a headwind monster.
