Got a massage last night, she scraped my whole back it is black and blue.  My shoulder problem was coming from my  scapular muscles, that is the worst with the bruising.  Hopefully that take care of the shoulder issue, I could still feel it this morning but it was better.  And alot of times things feel worse the day after a massage and then get better.

Got up this morning and meet MacK in SF we did our 9 mile riverbottom loop with an add on when we got back.  Felt tired so we ran really easy.

Meet Michelle, MacK, and Kevin at the Arts park in Sprigville.  We drove up Hobble creek to the 5 mile mark of the half.  We ran the 5 up to the start and then turn and took it easy for 1 mile.  Then we started a 6 miles tempo, me and Michelle stayed together until the last half mile and Michelle pulled ahead a bit.

1-6:44 was wondering if I was going to be able to finish this workout.

2-6:47 feeling better

3-6:43 feeling even better and know I can fiinish the rest.

4-6:42

5-6:37

6-6:57 had the climb before the golf course in it, and I was getting tired.

time for the tempo 40:30

Felt better the longer I went.  Then we took it easy until the last two and I took off.  did a 7:04 and 6:57 last two miles.  Felt pretty good for the run.

Two more weeks, I'm getting excited. Legs feel great after last weeks 75 miles and saturdays run. In fact I have never felt this good after running that high of mileage. But I am glad it is TAPER time ya. Planning on 58-60 miles this week with 13 on saturday with a 3 mile tempo.

Went when the kids where in school and right before the storm came.  I did get rained on just a bit.  Started at wills and went up the path  5 and back.   Started slow and went easy up and felt good on the way back but still keep it fairly easy, but naturally faster from the down grade.

Oh man marathon on saturday!  Goals for the week-not get my underwear all in a bunch form pre-race nerves.  I am trying to decide how many miles to run before the marathon I am thinking anywhere between 1 and 100 we will just see how I feel.  I think again I will just treat this as a training run because it worked out so well last time;-)

So the positives in this race was I PRed big time over last years time (14 min) I didn't slow down as much as I did last year (I did struggle the last 3 big time though.  I actually new I was not going to have that great of a race at about mile 6 my vision was going all blurry/wavey at this point and it was allready hot.  I thought at this point I would have to pull out because I was light headed, I was so mad because my leg felt great.  I took some power aid to see if it was my blood sugar and about 3 miles later my vision was clear again and never did that again.  I am happy with my time but not happy at the same time.  I know I should have been faster, but with the way I felt and the heat this is what I ended up with.

I started the race with Michelle, MacK, and Cal.  Michelle was gone within 20 seconds and I took a pit stop at mile one and cought back up with Cal and MacK with in a half mile.  MacK had to stop and stretch her calves and didn't see her again until about mile 7.  So I ran with Cal until about 10 and then he left me.  The first 8 or so felt super comfortable, only had my vision problem.  Then the roller I really felt like I ran them smart.  Got to 18 and I just couldn't push the down hill like I wanted IT WAS SURVIVAL.  I finished feeling sick and like I was going to pass out and felt like that for about an hour.  I feel fine now, leg are not sore I feel like I ran an easy 20 miler which upsets me.  I wanted my leg to be trashed.  But what do you do.

I am going to take a break from higher mileage this week and not care how many I end up with.  Hopefully this will recharge me mentally to train hard for the next marathon.

So my sister and step dad got some really cool pic of everyone at the race,  I have tried to post them on my blog but was unsuccessful.  I will post them on my quilt blog tomorrow sometime.

Oh man I had the worst night last night.  The wind woke me up and my stomach was hurting me so bad.  I thought I had food posioning.  I went and slept downstairs for a while so I couldn't hear the wind as much.  Needless to say I didn't get much sleep, and I didn't think I would feel up to running, but my stomach felt somewhat better this morning so I went out in the rain and the wind for a loving little run.  Leg felt pretty good.

Slept in this morning and just ran with me, myself, and I. Ran down to my husband job and opened it for him then got on the jogging path and went up to the 1st drinking fountain and then back home. It took me about 3.5 miles to warm up and feel like I was actually a runner then I felt good until the last mile or so and legs started to get tired. Good run.

For this week I will probably do right around what I did last week.  One more low key week before I start cranking out the miles for St. G.  I also promised my self I would start back with the weights after Ogden so I would like to do this at least twice.

*Just thought I would put in here what I did before Ogden to stay injury free.  1-daily stretching, I do at least 15-30 mins of stretching before I go to bed. 2-I get regular massage (every other week, I would get one evey week but don't have time) and chiropractic work  done (about 4-6 time a year).  3-I scrape my legs when ever I feel a twinge and after my long runs just to clean them out.  4- I don't ignore anything 5- I take a recovery week every 3-4 weeks ei. I cut my mileage down so I can handle higher mileage.  6-I eat extreamly well.  7-one more thing I forgot is I get more sleep than I use to (7-8 hrs instead of 5-6 hrs)

Wtihout all this I don't think I would have been able to run mileage into the high 70s without some sort of injury.  My best advise is to listen to your body the FIRST time.  It always gives you warnings (this is even hard for me all I want to do is run, run, and run some more.)

I ran a total of 9 miles today.  3 on my own before my husband left for work, then 5 with Gauge in the jogger, and then 1 mile with Gauge riding his bike.  Got a massage last night so leg felt beat up (they look that way as well from being scraped).

I am so mad!  I thought that my garmin just didn't get pluged in properly but it won't charge.  I just read about someone elses doing the same thing and he said it would be 90 bucks to fix it.  Man it is only a year old and it is the second garmin I have had.  And you pay up the wazoo for them, and I love using them.  I just don't know what to do.  I think if you are going to pay that mcuh for something it should last longer than a year!!!!!  I am really begining to not like the Garmin company and there lack of testing their product before it goes public. GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Anyway ran with Michell in SF we did our riverbottoms loop.  Great run, usually thurs. are my though and tired days but I felt great.  Added on another mile after I dropped Michelle off.

pace 7:58 don't remember the time.

*Good news I contacted Garmin and they had me hold the mode and lap button at the same time for 5 seconds and then let go.  Then I pushed the power button and it works.  HURRAY!  I guess the units can get locked up every so often.

Met up with Michelle, Kent, and Steve.  We started at Vivain park and ran up the hill to the girl scout camp and then back down to the start of the 10 miler course.  There we started a 6 mile tempo, which I did in 39:39/6:37.  Felt ok legs alittle tired but not to bad.  First 3 are downhill and the last 3 flaten out but are still a slight down. 6:26, 6:38, 6:32, 6:44, 6:50, 6:29 really wanted to break 40 mins so I pushed the last mile.  All in all a good work out.  Everyone else kicked my trash on this though, but I am still happy with what I did.

Core workout.

Also did power yoga twice this week counting that as my upper body.  It is a better upper body workout than weights.
