Man another crappy run today, but good company. Ran with Jeff and Sasha, and two others came for some of the run as well. Just didn't feel that great, feet and calves cramping again esc. in the left and it went up in the hamstring. I don't know what my problem is, when I was pregnant I use to feel this way on every run but I know for a fact I am not the P word. Hip was there but not bad.

I got beat up by my massage therapist last night,  but that was a good thing.  My legs did feel better today, not great but better.  It is very discouraging to all of the sudden feel sooooo crappy and have little injuries appear.  Sometimes I wish I didn't like to run as much as I do.  But I do know this will pass and my day will come, maybe not now but someday.

Went out with some friends on the canal.  It was super muddy so we went the road back.  I remebered that when I cramped like this when I was pregnant I use to take a magnesium supplement.  So I took some as well as some extra calcuim and I think that is helping.

Really not feeling like I want to go and race on sat. After having 2 bad races in a row and feel horrible this week, why go and torture myself?

I was going to take the day off, and then I thought to myself just an easy 3.   But my legs felt good so I did an easy 5.  I hope the trend continues.

So Yes I am very happy with this race.  I guess the key is to just not care how you do and then the nerves calm down and you race better.

Started out the morning driving up with my sister.  We got lost thanks to googlemap, so I arrived at the start when the last busses were leaving.  I got on to the last bus with people still waiting for the 1st bus to come back down to get them.  I was not going to wait.    So I was alittle frazzled.  Got up to the start and saw all my fastrunningblog friends, warmed up about a half mile and then the race started.  Once again my garmin was not working properly, it keep losing satillite.  So I fool with it to turn off the auto pause.  So my first 3 splits I don't have.  And I never really knew my running time the whole race,  I assumed I was about 3 mins. off,  which it turns out it was 2:36 off.

Really pleased with this,  it is a 6 min. pr in this race.  Hip is a little sore.  Cooled down with everyone about 2 miles.

Legs feel pretty good, alittle bit of soreness.  Scrapped the hip and it is feeling better today.

The plan for the week is to hop back into the mid 60's again if the hip allows.  Do the UVM on saturday as a training run.  Really need to start doing the lifting again, I think that is why I am having my back issues so I will try to do that 2 times this week.

Debated weither or not to run today and make my milage below 70 or above.  As you can see I can't stay away and decided to go above.  Easy l-loop from my house without a watch.

As for tomorrow I will run how I feel.

I WON, WOW I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT. I will write more later very tired and can't think.

I got 3 prs today 1-mileage for the week 2-mileage in one day 3-time

I am so happy with today.  I want to start out by say Hyrum the race director did an excellent job.  The start was freezing cold, started in my jacket but sheed it by mile 3 but still had my long sleeve and gloves on.  Once again my Garmin was not working well my total mileage for the marathon was 30 because the first 5 it was picking up wrong.  Man that really bugs.  I turned it off and back on again around mile 5 so I could see my splits.  I started the race with  MacK and Bruce.  MacK (the female in 1st) took off faster than I wanted so I hung with Bruce.  I don't have my first 5 spits but I ran it around 36:09.

6-7:53 this had a good uphill and Bruce told me to not get my heartrate up so I took it easy and let Mack go.

7-7:28 pace so far feel super comfortable

8-7:12 hammer gel

9-7:40

10-8:04 another up hill section, see Steve in this section and he is flying

14-7:12

15-7:21 See KT and she is cheering with her girls.

16-7:20

17-7:17

18-7:21 this is a dirt section and it was tough.  But I realize if I can keep this up I might get a pr. hammer gel

19-7:25

20-7:35 starting to close the gap on the first lady.

21-7:35 Starting to feel it.

22-7:35

23-7:35

24-7:24 Really trying hard to close the gap on the first lady but I am soooo tired.

25-7:35

26-7:26  Here comes Sasha and he is taunting me and telling me I have to slap him five.  Finally cought the first girl and ran my gut out to the finish.

.21-1:41(6:46)

I have never finish a marathon that strong and feeling that good.  This was awsome, although I felt bad for passing Mack in the final strech.  We hugged and she was glad it was me and not someone else.  I didn't get sick after the marathon either, I usually get really sick after the marathon.  After some time I went back and ran my mom in.  So I won 1000 buckaroonies, and nice trophy (which my son has displayed proudly in his room), a swiss army watch, and a 15$ gift card to the University mall.  Wow what a great training run:)

I felt great all day yesterday.  Some soreness in the knees and quads but not like I just ran a marathon sore.  I did scrape the legs this morning and they are not as sore.  Wow I still am soaking up yesterdays run.  It was such a great accomplishment for me, I had to work so hard to catch MacK she put up a good fight.  I think the best thing of all though was that my husband and kids were there at the finish and saw me win (they haven't seen me finish a race for a long time and my son has never seen me finish.)   My daughter was so proud.

As for running I will just see how I feel but easy miles and not as many as last week.

Had to be home early so got up and ran with Jeff and Sasha early (5am).  We ran easy again.  Feeling better, although I have had a cough scence the marathon and I can feel the allergies starting which makes me feel worn down.  And I still feel like I'm recovering from sat.

Decided to do my long run today because the weekend is crazy.  Meet MacK in SF and did the run out in the river bottoms.  Felt pretty good although we keep the pace very easy.  Wanted to keep on going but I reminded myself that I need to take it easy this week so I didn't.  Man it was cold my hands froze.  I want summer!

Slept in and went out around 7:40 am, this was nice. The weather was great infact I over dressed. Was tired starting out and ending but the middle felt good. Thought alot about what I wanted out of Ogden. I want to run smart but I also really want top 3 finish. Ran from my house down to the jogging path and up towards the canyon and back.

Today I was feeling antsy to run faster after a week of easy running.  I started at will's and went up the canyon and back.  Ran easy on the way up and picked up the pace when I turned around.  Felt good.

Ran with Sasha and Jeff.  We started really easy but worked in to a sub-8 pace after a few miles.  We did a half mile at about a 6:40 pace to show me what the pace would feel like to run a 2:50 marathon.  Felt good on the run.  We ran upon a skunk that wanted to spray us.  We had to stop and let it get off the trail, we threw some rock in the diredtion to scare it away.  It worked and we were able to continue on the trail.

Didn't sleep well last night, first my dog woke me up at 3am then the wind and rain was bad.  All I could think about was how I really didn't want to run in that.  Then I actually fell asleep for a little bit and had a scary dream.  When I woke up it was pretty calm outside.  But drove into it meeting Michelle and MacK in SF.  But it really wasn't to bad once we got going.  It did hail on us at the end.  Just ran easy.  Was a really nice run.

I felt awsome today.  I wanted to do hills today both up and down so I did the Temple loop, this loop gives me lots of both.  I wanted to practice running fast on the down so I know I can go in the the low 6's and running the ups strong but comfortable.  I actually was only going to go 7 miles at the most but I felt so good I made it 10.  Was able to stay around 8:30's on the up except the temple hill and was in the low 6's on the down even got into the sub 6's for a bit.

Started in SF with MacK and Ally we did 3.5 before the Michelle and the rest of the group came.  We did the usuall to the BS house but then me, Mack and Michelle did a loop out by the freeway before going into the river bottoms.  MacK hernia was really bothering her so she was debating on turning early but she finished a full 20.  We dropped Michelle off  and added on some then I dropped MacK and add on another 3.  Was alittle tired starting out and we started very easy.   But felt really good at the end and was able to do 7:40's the last 3 miles but was fading at the last half mile so I stopped and was done.

My plan is to do one more 70 mile week with 17 or 18 on sat. and then do a two week taper for the marathon.   Right foot was alittle bit sore after yesterdays run so I iced it and worked it out my happy ball massager, it feels better this morning.  But will keep my eye on it through this high mileage week.

Meet with Michelle, Sasha, Jeff, and Brad and ran the uneventful half.  I arrived early and warmed up 2.1 before in 18:03.  First off my left should has this huge cramp in it.  It start in my back where the daiphram attaches and moves up the my shoulder.  It killed me the whole run.  This was a tough run for me I want to give up at 10 and did stop and say I was done but Sasha wouldn't let me (which I am so glad I finished).  Started pretty chatty  but by 5 for me I wasn't chatting any more, but Michelle still was.

Went when the kids where in school.  Started at will's and went up to Bridal Vail falls and back.  Started easy (9:00) then went to a very easy 8:20-8:30 on the way up and pick up the pace on the way back but just because it is a slight downhill.  Ran one mile at a low 7 because I saw a girl who I always see when I do this run and I wanted to talk to her.  But as soon as I cought her she turned off the path.  Oh well.  So I slowed the pace back down because it was just suppose to be an easy run.  Felt good except the pain that is still in my shoulder,  I scraped it and worked on the huge knot that is in there so it does feel somewhat better but still is very annoying.
