Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 21, 13, and 7 and a dog named Koda.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running.

Meet up for a New years day run with Michelle, Jamie, Amber, and Ali in SF.  We ran around the riverbottoms.  Felt good and had a good run with great company.

Michelle is trying to talk me into running the painter half you know just as a training run.  I ahve thought about it but I don't know we will see how I feel the next couple of weeks.

Went to the rec and did 42:00 on the treadmill and 20 min on the elliptical.  Leg felt great running but super tired on the elliptical.  stretching

So I got up early to meet Michelle at Sashas house and I did but I think I had the wrong address.  I looked up in the phone book and it must be an old one even know it is a new book.  Then I came home and look on his blog and sure enough it was differant.  Oh well sorry Michelle.  Didn't have enough time to run by the time I got home so I will have to do it later at the gym.

Did a tempo workout on the treadmill, my plan was to do 800 at a 7 min pace but I felt good so I just keep going.  I warmed up for 1.5 mile and then did 1.5 starting at a 7:30 and work my way down to a 6:30 pace.  Then I did .5 recovery and another 1.5 starting at a 7:30 and worked my way down to a 6:49 this one was harder but I finished and felt pretty good. then I cooled down 1 mile and biked for 20 mins.

today I did 30 mins of pool running it was nice for a change.  I tried to swim some laps and made it 2 wanted to swim more but pecks were sore so I stoped.  Then I did 30 mins on the elliptical.  I opted out of running today because I didn't want to end up with to many miles for the week, although I wan't to.   WT upeer and abs.

I went to the rec because by the time my husband got home the weather was horrible.  I did 8.5 miles on the treadmill in1:09 then did 15 mins on the bike.  I wanted to do 10 miles of running but my body was telling me to stop at 8.5  so I did and jumped on  the bike to finish up the mileage.  Sore from lifting yesterday.

To run the painters or not to run that is the question.  I want to come down and just run easy and have a good time.  But I will have to be really disaplined not to try and race it.  I am still deciding,  we will see how this week goes.

Ran the carterville loop, didn't feel all that great, it felt easy except for the hills they kicked my behind.  I think I didn't feel that great because I did not sleep well.

Decided to do the treadmill because the road  had so much snow on them I would have had a hard time running on them.  I did 2* 1.5 miles marathon pace  miles.  My leg were tired form the massage I got last night but I made it through it.  1- 10:30   2- 10:36  the second one was tough and I wanted to quit half way through but I held on till the end.

WT upper and abs/back followed by stretching

Later-30 mins on my bike.

Got up and ran early by myself, but I got to sleep in about 40 more mins because my husband is leaving later today ya.  Roads were very icy in most spots so the run was slow but i just wanted an easy run.  Did the cc loop

The plan for the week is to do in the low to mid 40's, run painters on sat. smart and not hurt myself.  I might throw in some marathon pace miles if I feel good.  Crosstraining to put in the high 50's and weights.  and lots and lots of stretching.

I didn't get up and run because I was going to do it while my kids were in school but my son woke up with a bad cough so I didn't want to take him so I just did my bike for 50 mins.  I hope to go out later to get some miles in.

Later-I bundled my son up and took him in the jogger.  Almost got hit 3 times twice by people trying to beat me to the turn and once by some lady turning talking on the cell phone. gee whiz people lets watch out while we are driving.  I can tell I haven't pushed the jogger in a long time.  54:44/9:00

The plan was to get up at 5 am and go do some treadmill miles because the air is getting bad outside and I could feel it after yesterdays run, dry scratchy throat.  Then when I didn't sleep well I was just going sleep in and do something later but when my alarm goes off I usually cna't go back to sleep, I think it is a curse.  So I got up and went out side because I didn't have enough time to go to the rec. center.  I did 6*800 at marathon pace flat course

I ran 7 on the treadmill, I just couldn't face a cold run in the dark by myself today.  Leg started out feeling tried but after about 2 miles they perked up.  58:00  I was going to ride the bike and lift some weights but I feel alittle run down so I decided to cut myself some slack and just did some stretching.

My thought on tomorrows race is realizing I am only 2 months post op and only have been running for 5 weeks that this will be more of a training run than anything.  Don't get me wrong if I fell good I will push it but I will also be happy with what ever my body is able to do.  I hope everyone has a spectacular race or saturday run.

So I ran a 4 min pr in from last year in this race on the same short course.  I also ran about the same time right before my surgery so that was encourrging.  I still didn't run all out because I had no idea how I would feel.  But ended up feeling good most of the way.  I feel like this is a good start to my year and is very encournging for things to come over the year.  ya

Loved meeting everyone at the party and satying at Marcie's house was alot of fun.  Thanks a bunch.

I feel good today not to sore alittle bit in the quads but not near as bad as SC half.  Did some stretching this morning.

The plan for the week is to hit 48 for the week with alittle bit of crosstraining, weights and stretching.

Icey, icey road so the pace was slow.  At one point I was going up this long hill with snow up past my ankles, that was a very slow mile.  But thats ok my legs still feel like they are recovering from the half.  Did the CC loop with an add on at the end.

Went to meet Michelle and Mack in SF but was aliitle late and they were gone so I ran and came back and meet up with them and Ali at 6am with the SF group.  Ran a differatn way than I have gone before that brought us down by the freeway.  was a good run but ran out of energy at the end.  Started out slow and worked our way dwon onto the high sevens and low eights and then had some uphill at the end so ended closer to nines.

This week I was planning on taking a recovery week but I don't feel like I need one but we will play it by ear.  If I feel good I will run around 55 miles with a little bit of crosstraining.  Planning on mostly phaseing out the crosstraining over the next couple of weeks and have all the mileage be true running (except for swimming I really like to stay swimming during hard training times.  It just feels great to get in the water and I get to get in the hot tub after.)

Went out after the kids went to school, legs felt good.  Wind for half the run but the temps were great (38).  I think I will call this run the center st. loop

1:06:38/8:02 is what my garmin said but the first mile it was picking up a much faster pace than I was going so I turned it off and relocated the satillite so the pace was more like an 8:15 or so.

Then I came back and did 20 mins on the bike.

Pm- 25 mins of stretching while watch American Gladiator, I find this show very comical.  I just laugh at there witty comments they make.  Secretly I want to be on the show, but don't think I could come up with that cheesy of things to say.

Meet Michelle out in SF the plan was to do a 30 mins tempo.  We turned around every 10 mins so we would see each other more, and kind of do a chasing thing.  Well the roads we were on were solid snow ice mix so I had a really hard time keeping a decent pace, I even slipped and fell in the second mile.  I made it 4 miles in 30:58.  It will be intresting to see what the pace is when the road are good.  Did a 2.5 mile warm up.

Had a great run today.  I meet with Cheryl and another friend and we went up Provo canyon, they had just plowed the path so it was great.  It looked like a winter wonderland up there.  it was great.

Today I decided to do another marathon pace run scense the one on tuesday was a failed attempt due to the icey roads.  I went to the rec and did it on the treadmill.  2.5 mile warmup then I just want to do at least 4 miles.  I wasn't sure how I would do it so I just started and decided as I went.  I was able to do all 4 in a row without stopping even know I wanted to stop at 3.1 (21:45) but I keep going to the 4 mile mark (27:58) much better time than on tues.  then I cooled down for 1.5 miles.  Then I swam 7 laps
