Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

This week I was planning on taking a recovery week but I don't feel like I need one but we will play it by ear.  If I feel good I will run around 55 miles with a little bit of crosstraining.  Planning on mostly phaseing out the crosstraining over the next couple of weeks and have all the mileage be true running (except for swimming I really like to stay swimming during hard training times.  It just feels great to get in the water and I get to get in the hot tub after.)

As the blog's leading guru of self help with injuries I would like to call on your knowledge one more time.

I am having pain on the ball of my foot and from what I have looked up online it may have something to with the metatarsals. I figure heat, ice, and ibuprofen are starts for healing. But are there any "magic stretches" I could use. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

If you are feeling it in the metatarsals you may have a stress fracture in those bones. There is not much more than bones in that area. You may want to go get a bone scan to make sure. If it is more in the fleshy area then, which would be better than you are probably developing some plantar faciaitis. If this is the case get a hard ball or a can of soup and work out the arch of your foot by rolling it back and forth as hard as you can stand. Ice before and it will lessen the pain. do this a couple of times a day. Ice/heat is always good for speeding up the process of healing.

I know you are coming back form injury and I have been following you, I think you are jumping back into the faster pace stuff to fast. I know it is hard to hold back but try to do some crosstrianing before you run. Hang in there and let me know if I can help with any thing else. Let me know if you find out anything about the injury and I might be able to help out more.
