Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

So yesterday I woke up with a sore adductor/medial hammstring. I didn't pay much attention to it. I did scrape it and have my husband put some pressure on it with his foot (ok I had him stand on it but not with all his wieght). It is still sore, I think it is a combination of the long run on sat. and squating for 1.5 hours picking strawberries. None the less it is sore and I think I will be taking this week alot easier than I had planned.  Hopefully this will be gone in a couple of days and not set me back any.  I will follow all my own advice, and I am getting a massage tomorrow.

I slept in and wasn't even going to run at all, but I wanted to see how it felt running on it.  So when my husband came home to shower I went out for an easy 2 miles.  It felt alright could feel it but not bad.  Then I came home and biked for 20 mins. then iced it while I lifted upper and core.

Shoot! So what part of the hamstring is it?

From josse on Mon, Jun 23, 2008 at 11:41:42

It is more my adductor so on the inside but in the middle, so not the grion, but in between the grion and the knee. It really doesn't bother it to run, I just don't want to chance it because it is sore doing other thing and to touch. I am pretty sure I will be ok, just being cautious.

Whoa! So injuries really are contagious. Your recovery week sounds like a good plan. Take it easy and get better soon!

Shauna sometimes I think I get simpathy imjuries. I tend to get some kind of pain in an area of someone I have worked on or given advise to. I usually goes away but sometimes it worries me a bit. I think I will be ok.

I hope it gets feeling better soon!

OUCH! You are so smart to take your own advice! Remember the mantra "Live to run another day!" Hey you could come run with pokey me while you recover ;) giggle giggle :)

Josse that better not be a sympathy injury from me!

I think it is Adam;) I think it is the only way I learn, good for all of you bad for me. I think I will be ok-just being super cautious and taking it easy for a couple of days.

As always you are the example for the rest of us. Hope you get feeling better soon!
