Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

I met Michelle at Hobble creek canyon we did a 3 mile warm up uphill before we started out 5 mile tempo, half up and half down.  Legs feeling warn out, trying to get use to this mileage.  But it went ok still,  the second uphill miles is a killer but this should all make me stronger, right!?!

1-7:10

2-7:56 The uphill seems very steep today.

3-7:30

4-6:44

5-6:40 legs are feeling it and tired.  But I push the last little uphill to be done.

36:00 for the tempo

I am going to call you today when I have a minute. My garmin wont charge and I remember you had similar trouble not to long ago with yours and had to reprogram it.

Thanks for logging these long runs and explaining how you're doing it and how it's going for you. It's great to have a glimpse into the heart and practices of a dedicated and talented runner! Also, thanks for the encouragement. I felt like a rockstar today doing one lousey mile at 8:02! So, when those hills, miles, and tempo runs get hard just remind yourself, that's what sets you apart from all the 8:00 minute girls! P.S. still loving the rolling pin, my quads have been great and my knees have never felt better because of it!

Great job today!

What kind of yoga do you do? Can you recommend a specific DVD/workout for someone who knows the basic poses but hardly ever does them?

Shauna I do astanga or power yoga geared towards runners. The person I studied from learned form Beryl Bender Birch. She works with the New York road runners club and is very well know in the yoga community. You can google her name and get some great books and dvd's. My favorite book is Power Yoga with the blue cover. It has everything you need in it.
