Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

I did it I got 80 miles this week and did the big nasty workout as well.  I wanted to do the 4,3,2,1 at MP with 2 min recovery last saturday but didn't feel good enough in the race to do it so I waited until today.

Met Michelle, Tyler, Kellie and their friends at the finish of Hobble and drove up to mile 7 and ran up to the start of that half for a warmup.  It was so dark when we started, luckly Tyler had a flashlight to give us some light.  Took a hammer gel and use the bathrooms at the top and started the workout.  I went off the mile markers and went back up a minute for my rest.

First set 4 miles

1-6:45

2-6:44

3-6:51 Thought I saw a black bear but it was just a black cow up in the trees. Scarded me to death.

4-6:28

2nd set 3 miles

1-6:36

2-6:40  I was headed for a 6:30 in this but when I went over the cattle gaurd I decided to go on the dirt thinking that it just come out on the other side.  Then I noticed that it goes into cattle stalls so I had to turn around and go over the cattle guard.

3-6:53 climb out of the golf course, got water after this one.

3rd set 2miles

1-6:30

2-6:47

4th set 1 mile

6:43 and glad to be done.  This was mile 10 of the course and it is rolling and the legs could feel that.

Ran back up a half mile to get my water and hammer gel and then finished up the course and had to add some more to get my 22 and ended going alittle long.  So happy with this becuase it was a great workout and I did all the MP stuff by myself.

That is a fantastic work out! You did awesome! I can't wait to see you have a great SGM.

80 big ones, and a tough Saturday work out as a nice chaser. You 're the man Josse. I'm getting a massage today to help you celebrate :) Seriously, I love that you did it, in spite of all the obtacles this week in getting out the door, and the tiny wavering of energy (per your entries). It's the toughest week of the year, right? Now for the downhill coast. Enjoy your pre SGM recovery.

Great job! You went out and did it and had great splits. And the ice bath, too.

Nice job today and this week. Though I'm trying to figure out how in the world a cow climbed up a tree!

From josse on Sat, Sep 13, 2008 at 15:02:14

The cow was on a steep hillside covered with trees. I was wondering how it got on such a steep hillside and is the reason I thought it was a bear at first.

Boy was I right about not wanting to run with you today. Great workout, a great week, and a great year of training! The big payoff is only a few weeks away. Enjoy taper time.
