Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Had to be home early so got up and ran with Jeff and Sasha early (5am).  We ran easy again.  Feeling better, although I have had a cough scence the marathon and I can feel the allergies starting which makes me feel worn down.  And I still feel like I'm recovering from sat.

I am really trying hard not to care about how much mileage I get this week.

Queen Josse, seems like a pretty quick recovery after the marathon. Hey, question, how long were you not able to run when you had the runner knee thing? I bought the scrapper and used it last night. I am debating whether to jog a 5k on saturday (have already paid for the race), but, do not want to set back the recovery.

I agree! you are doing sweet miles this week already! Man, to think you got up at 5am and ran 10 "easy" miles makes my stomach churn a bit :-P

Brent-my loyal subject, I got the knee thing about 3.5 week before SG marathon. The first week I tried just running through it and then ended up with it in both knees. So I hardly ran before SG and did the marathon. Then I took 2 weeks off and started back with 2 days. Then the next week I did 3 days and then I was able to run everyother day. I did this for most of the winter. I beleive with the everyother day running they hurt for about a month but stayed with that because it was winter. I would not run the race on saturday. Because it is a race you will push it more than if you just ran on your own. If you are feeling better I might try doing a mile and see how you feel. Then finish your workout in the water or bike or something. The whole object is getting the inflammation down in the knees.

I would scrape every night, and do ice/heat alternating acouple time a day. Ice after your workouts as well. I have a strap by Mullar that I bought from Wal Mart that you can put a ice/heat pack in so you can just strap in on and go about your buisness. It is great. Hope this helps:)
