Personal:

I am married with 3 lovely children 26, 18, &12and a dog named Koda and a cat named Blue.  Love to run and be outside.  I believe that if you think you can do it and you work hard enough any thing is possible.   Life flashes by in the blink of an eye, enjoy it while it last and remember there is a lot more to life than running. I coach high school swim and love it!

Had a pretty good workout today.  I went by myself when the kids where in school and the heat did get to me alittle in the end but I am happy I was able to do what I had planned.  Did 3x1miles on the rock canyon mile, has a quater flat then a quater downhill then a quater flat and ends with downhill.  Warmed up 2.5 miles and then started-1-6:02 recovery .57 uphill back to the start. 2-6:05 w/ .55 recovery 3-6:11 wanted to get faster with each one but was getting hot and I was getting tired.  Finished up with really easy running back to my car.

Nice workout. It starting to look like I will be chicked by at least 2 FRB'rs at SGM.

I just reviewed your workouts since the Provo River 1/2. It was all very impressive. Your workout on Saturday was especially impressive, and today's was not too shabby either. Your training is what I hoped mine to be at this point, but my old body hasn't cooperated.

I don't know how you maintain such a rigorous training schedule. I'd be in a wheel chair by now. Your planned taper mileage this week equals my max weeks, and you run more tempo miles in one day than I do in a week or two. Of course, I am nearly two decades older than you. I've learned it's best to listen to this old body of mine when it says to take it easy.

I truly hope you have a good day Saturday and are finally able to fully reap what you have so diligently sown...even if it boosts my chicked count by 1.

I finished in 1:27 last year. I think I'm in slightly better shape this year. I'm planning to run 6:15-6:20 pace during the early miles (similar to last year) and then hopefully hang on better and run the later miles faster than last year. My stretch goal is 1:25 (a very aggressive PR for me) which likely means you'll pass me later in the race (like at UVM) as I struggle to hang on after going out too fast. I faded at Provo River, but so did you, so you didn't catch me. It doesn't sound like you'll be fading at Hobble Creek. Be sure to say "hi" as you go by. The mumbled moan you hear from me through my labored breathing, or the weak nod of my head, will mean "Go, Josse!"

Thanks Paul, I do hope to have a good solid race on saturday. I just hope I am not coming down with a stomach bug. I haven't felt good today.

Sorry don't my blog address but wanted to write you. You probably don't remember much about me but years ago (over 10) we ran a little together in the Sojourners Running club. Anyway I talked to you before the Provo Half about the route. Well really what I want to say is: You are doing great!!!! Your stomach problem may just be dehydration, replenish your electrolytes!!! Not just water. Perhaps you did that. Eat a bland diet and rest, rest rest. You deserve it. Take it easy the next two days. Your going to do awesome!!!!

Thanks Julie, the stomach bugs been floating around my house the last week. Kind of a bummer but I am not going to get to worked up over it.
